Changed the oil in the front and rear diffs. The o-ring on one of the filler plugs is a bit knackered so I have ordered a pair of brass filler plugs. Do these need torquing up more?

Drove mine 140 miles & crusing on 7.50x16 & 1.22 transfer is better.

Have found a draught in the truck cab which needs sorting.

Never made it to the garage yesterday, did some domestic duties (to earn my garage points).
Today got the exhaust put together, welded up a connection from New to old,( center to front) used old hanger on the welded connector, so that’s the same position.
Wired up rear hanger to see where it needs to go, need to take for a run Incase it’s to high, then will fab a new 1 for the rear of silencer.
But good news is horrible gases now leave at the back instead of just wafting out from underneath in different places.:)

Got it back on four wheels. BiL dismantled it three years ago and got as far as buying a galvanized chassis and a few hundred pounds worth of new bits then put it in one of the storage sheds to languish in project hell.

Who do you scrutineer for?

This was for an off road club who iv known for years so I was on an annual visit
Just do it for a hobby now as it's too much traveling & money was not covering expenses. Oh & people getting annoyed when I point out the obvious of the poor rolll cage design on tray back discoveries.
 
Cleaned up the flywheel housing fitted a new dowty seal and block/flywheel gasket with some hylomar . Broke out the torque wrench and tightened it all up nicely. Refitted the flywheel and clutch & starter. Ready to drop it back in the bay and hook it back up how ever that's another day.

Also fixed the house boiler to keep swmbo off my back in the house while I work on the 90.
 
Well I had a spare hour at work this morning.
Found where the spindle has the most extra metal incase this don't work.
Drill & tap wiper arm with 5mm.
Fix back on with lock nut. Yes it looks rough but it's stage 1.
If stage 1 fails I'm going to drill/tap into the spindle

Not just today but over the next couple of days, new back door, the back axle is leaking, MOT and service
 
Lubed the hinges and stay on the rear door of the disco 2, stiff as hell and not much better after half a tin of GT85. Will keep spraying over a few weeks to try and work it in prior to degreasing and greasing.

Also fitted a dash cam.
 
Got up early doors and did a homer on a mates sons Suzuki swift --pads disks and handbrake adjustment for its MOT fail sheet and retest.
Then
Put the 200tdi back in the 90 6 or 8 or 10 times.

Last time I did it I swear it mated first go first offering no sweat.

This time it was in and out more times than the hokey cokey. Up down in out in out up down gearbox up gear box down engine nose up nose down in out up down etc adnausem.
Rain started ****ing down and it got dark and knock in it went like a sailor docking at the red lights after 6months at sea.

Never known an engine/box be so hard -especially as it's the same gearbox engine clutch and spigot that came out last week.

Burst my lower oil cooler pipe in the process once we got rough with it bent the metal tail at the pump end when it caught on the chassis mount damnit.

Paddocks order for Monday I guess.
 
If you fit carpet , make sure it is removeable for cleaning and drying. A few coats of paint never go amiss tho.

Did you get your clutch sorted?
Oops, it's glued down :eek:
I have ordered the new master and slave, should be here Tuesday. I am just doing a few odd jobs with bits I have laying around :rolleyes:
