You may be lucky.....I was. If you have it on axle stands , how are you going to lock the flange to undo or tighten the central nut?

Cheers
Well, I will probably ask you what I am doing wrong and you will say 'you numpty, take it off the stands' :)
You see, I only ever had two wheel drive and this 4x4 stuff is so complicated.... :D

Easier in some ways. You can crawl under a landrover without jacking it up, you can't on a car.

I much prefer working on a landrover or a tractor to a car.

Well, I managed to get the bolts off and tighten up the diff nut........

I just need to grease the UJ's and torque up the flange bolts :) ready for the weekends play!!

Well, I could turn it with my hand  and thats loose!!
I did it back to the torque we discussed. We had to use the impact driver to shift the bolts on the flange :)
That short 9/16th extension was fantastic :D

Yep, loose then.....LOL, still a nice easy fix.

Cheers

Indeed, thanks for the heads up. I must admit I thought the bearing was shot..... It feels smooth now though.
The UJs will need replacing I think but we will see after greasing them tomorrow night.

They don't look that old though?

So:
Pick Hardy Spicer GKN
Measure Cap Diameter and UJ Overall diameter (Cap to cap)
?

Yep, thats about it. I think they would only have one cap diameter that is used ( I may be wrong) . But worth checking anyway. The overall measurement is the one that can change depending on prop fitted.

Cheers
