AAARRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The oil cooler O rings turned up today, well one of them did anyway.

So the two ebay purchases that I was hoping to fit this weekend (from separate sellers) both turned up wrong.

cowasaki, have yours turned up yet, did you get both ?

Took my head for a second time to replace the oil steam seals as I damged the first set. Started her up and still burning excess oil.... Is this normal just after pulling the head apart? I can't see it being the valve stem seals unless I have installed them incorrectly.

Anyone had this problem before?

Excessive valve guide wear or piston oil control rings, bore wear

Bores didn't seem to be oily. Did turn the engine over by hand and wipe them down. Seems fairly clean.

Won't the stem seals stop any oil getting down the valve guides? Or is uncontrolled once the wear is past a certain point

Received my Valve guide's, Top and bottom water hoses and the back seat cover for the drivers seat. That should take care of Sunday.

Fitted a crank front oil seal and replaced the O ring on the lower oil cooler pipe.
Hopefully that will stop it dripping oil all over the road (or reduce it anyway).

Just given him a friendly pat on the bonnet as he completed just under 1000 miles on my five day jaunt to France without missing a beat. Well done Euphorbie!

Just put mine on eBay :( Loved owning it but with commuting it's just not practical, and it's worth too much to just sit on the drive doing nothing, because to insure it and my new car just wouldn't make sense

Fitted a new seat cover for the drivers seat. Went on surprisingly easy. It now makes the other covers look tatty so might do the whole lot now.

I think at long last I have found a solution to the poor heating in my 200 tdi 110, Defender.
I'm seriously thinking of moving to Portugal.

Visited the start of the Conquering Hero in N Wales to see it still firmly shut because of irresponsible owners of either bike or 4x4..Drove the White Stones route in Denbighshire N Wales only to be confronted by an irate farmer who complained that the last lot of 4x4 drivers had left all the gates open and then drove where they should not. Then on to the Wayfarers to see chewed up ground off the track caused by numpties who have no idea about tread lightly. For those of you out there he actually don't care, it won't be long before all routes are closed and only available to ramblers, horse riders and farmers and you will have only yourselves to blame. A typical example is the Baddi a route near Llangollen, it is recommended down hill only as the track is being wrecked by people trying to go uphill who do not understand what "downhill only means" it is an English term meaning "downhill only" End
