Finished a cylinder head overhaul. Started at 2 yesterday, and then again today at 10:30. Long job but runs lovely now. Think I might have damaged a new valve stem oil seals as it burnt white when it started. Hopefully its just a bit if oil that leaked into the cylinder or head. Cleaned the injectors using alcohol and worked a treat

Pressure washed the Disco, been prepping it up and doing a few little things ready for the MOT on Tuesday.

First time its been washed since I had it, didn't scrub up too bad for an oldie! :)

Today I greased the props / track rod ends, tracked down the oil leak which turned out to be two.

So now I need to replace the font crankshaft oil seal (I hope it's that and not the cam as I've just ordered one), and replace an O ring on the lower oil cooler pipe, anyone know what size they are (Di 300tdi).

It the repaid me by blocking it's fuel filter.

After my head rebuild it seems to be burning more oil when its cold! I think I might have damaged two valve stem oil seals. On am exhaust. Will this causes oil problems? Or will it be stuff ive dislodged and should burn away. I have only done about 10 miles since the rebuild. Any advice much appreciated :)

Finally got around to sorting out my sluggish 110 CSW 300tdi that is fitted with a Disco transfer box. Turned the fuel screw on top of fuel pump 360 degrees CW and fitted the Timber Trail boost pin. Also removed EGR and blanked off also fitted new intercooler pipe with new jubilee clips. The engine runs much sweeter and the difference in performance is noticeably improved: the truck picks up much quicker, goes through the gears quicker and 5th gear is now useable on reasonable inclines. cost me £56 for the pin and £13 for the EGR blanking plate and pipe. Has to be one of the best mods for a 300tdi - well chuffed here!

got missus and eldest to 'wash' her while I helped youngest sort out a bmx we got from the tip. still ended up washing her myself though as it was worse than it started lol

On Saturday i fitted some landy towing eyes to the sides of my 90 to be used as lash down eyes for when carrying stuff on the roof, i just need 4 more as i want to replace the small one's that you can see in the pic's and when i get some rock slider's fitted i want to fit one on either side at the front wing end aswell.

Took the Disco in for MOT at 9 am. Passed with one advisory, rear discs are slightly corroded but not enough to weaken them.

Result! :)

Drove her all the way to stratford upon Avon n back at the weekend towing 2 motorbikes! The trip home was slow due to lots of steep hills n a bad headwind! :)

Drove to bromsgrove to pick up a tractor engine repair kit 135mile round trip
went well 70 + didnt even break [ down ] just got to rebuild a major engine now

I ordered both crankshaft front oil seals on Sunday, package arrived today with a rear seal, so I wont be changing that this weekend.

Hopefully the oil cooler O rings will be right when they arrive.

Fitted my new front springs. Feeling smug, I walked into the shed only to see two shiny turret rings sitting there:doh:

After the second fitting I should be getting good at it
