Drove mine into a Renault Megan. Gutted, ive bent my bumper, broke a light gaurd and I think I damged some paintwork as well. I think the Renault is a right off....

Sounds like you did the country a service. Pile of rubbish those Renaults.

Have yu got recovery?

Yes, wouldn't go anywhere without it!!
AA for UK ( member since 1965) and Eurotunnel for France although that will not cover me after mid May as my beloved Disco reaches the ripe old age of 15 years! After not have any euro claim for the 6 full years I have used their annual cover, I have been told that this year my cover will cease (mid May ) even though it is paid up until early September. No loyalty there then! I'm only on 240,000 miles!

I'm not sure if they still do it, but the AA used to do 5-star (I maintained the code years ago) which was an add on breakdown cover for existing policy holders which covers Europe. It was sold on a trip or annual basis and was very cheap.

Was lacking in power so checked for leaks on the boost pipes and cleaned the air filter witch made no difference so adjusted the turbo actuator 1.5 turned and now I can go up hill quicker than 40mph. :D

Yes, the AA will do the annual cover and that is where I will go when this policy ceases mid May. Sadly it is no longer cheap! I can remember the days of the 5* policy but that is now gone. As I am totally clueless about the mechanics of a car and the wheels are too heavy for me to lift now, so that is changing them out of the question, it is cheap at any price for me to take out the breakdown cover wherever I can get it for a 15+ year old car. And I always keep my fingers crossed!!!!

Changed over the passenger side door yesterday, and today I will fit it properly.

Both hinges had to be cut off! Thank goodness I still had some cutting discs which took a lot of the strain out of the job!

Removing the glass was a bit of a nightmare, as the spacers and shims had been pop riveted in place before the channels were screwed through to the frame, so what was a nice, easy job onb the drivers side turned into as marathon 9 hours on the passneger side!

The new door also seems to have a bit of a twist in it which will have to be sorted, as the top seal is making contact before the side seals.

I now have two spare doors with good skins and rotten frames, plus a full channel repair kit, so that one day, I might just buy another TIG welder and do them up!

Just dropped son and g/friend at Manchester airport in the 90 this morning so i have got it back for a week and have a few little jobs to do on it before he gets back :D

Finally got a few hours off work and fitted the exhaust. Bit of a bugger to get the front pipe threaded through but got there in the end.

Whilst I was doing that the brake elves sneaked in and turned my freshly refurbished brakes into porridge. So thats tomorrow sorted out.

I've done a little job I've been meaning to do for a while. The rubber concertina on my drop arm ball joint keeps coming off. There was a coil spring clip n the larger end which was supposed to keep it on. I've taken this off and put on a harder to fit but much stronger ring shaped clip off an old ball joint. I hope this will be a bit tighter and keep it in one place.

I only wanted to change the door hinge looks like the previous owner liked body filler on the bulkhead.
