Got to the bottom of the Disco' slow puncture - rim damage. Bought new drag-link - will fit on Monday.
Walked past the 'Fender 4 times. :D

Stuck it on axle stands, removed wheels, ready to put new brake pipes on, 2" springs (second hand) and fettle bearings. oils, 'stuff' ready for next weekend .. ;)

Been given an Acer Aspire netbook so my navigation might be a tad more reliable than my old IBM laptop .. but still to fettle the wiring so it off a decent 12v feed, rather than turning off every few minutes 'cos the fag lighter is crap! I also want to use it independantly of the ignition so need to find a fused constant 12v supply somewhere.

Might have a noo set of wheels and tyres to fit too .. depends on Juliet .. ;)

Heheheh, just ordered a set of tyres on wheels, 235 x 85 Malatesta kaimans ...

x4 235/85R16 Malatesta Kaiman on 16x7 Black Modular (Land Rover) Tyres order online from Tyres Direct

Similar to Insas et al, but extra sidewall knobbles and an inch taller than the BFG AT 31 x 10.5's currently on, though about an inch thinner.

Ju thought it through methodically and suggested I get a set of more extreme tyres for laning/offroading and keep the AT's for towing and occasional laning when away in the caravan! I love my wife ..

Dunno where she scraped the money up from!! I was close to getting AT's again or MT's, but she suggested two sets ... and who am I to disagree. ;)

Thumped back in to line -'seems' fine  (but, I will keep an eye on it) ...

Painted me wheels, nice and shiny black now,
Sorted all the door locks, now you need a key for all the doors, and they all seem to lock/unlock properly now they been cleaned/lubed.
Cleaned up/painted the Xmember, on the outside, underside tomorrow/next weekend.
sorted my exhaust blow (almost, still a lil bit there, but should be reet next time i go out when the paste sets) lost 2 bolts off the down pipe!!
last, but not least, rewired (so each spot has its own feed, was all on one circuit) and fitted me newly aquired light bar, not wired in yet, but thats one evening this week, once me switch arrives.

Gav Briggs. came to my place and gave my disco td5 an oil service, fitted the egr valve delete kit, plus a few more smaller jobs for me.so a very big thank you to him.:tea::tea:;)

then made the most of the sun to tidy the workshop...... backed the 109" up to the chassis to compare, the 109" on mil shackles sits the same height as my mates 110 so gives a good reference....

currently sits 12.5" over standard on knackered 7.50's, should be another 5" higher on the planned tyres, less a bit for the refitted body so should be around a 16" lift putting the floor level at about 38-40"

currently looking at some form of access ladder or aircraft escape slide lol

cheers steve

I completely gutted my new defender 110 seats carpets the lot and cleaned it to within an inch of its life and found a list of jobs as long as my arm in the meantime
