Tried to find a v-belt for the power steering pump!

Thought that they would be a standard length, but no!!:mad:

Even went to the local scrappy, and they didn't have any v-belts at all apart from the fl;at multi's!!!

No such thing as a standard length.
Wot you do is slacken the adjustment (alternator), push it in as far as you can and measure the length around all the pulleys. The pull the adjustment out to its maximum. Measure it again in millimetres.
Write that measurement down and go to Halfords. Look at the V belts with the same number. That's the one you want; or any number between max and min. Pref closer to min. All their belts are graded by style and length in mm :).

Good luck.

Wot he said^^^^

But don't go for the very minimum cause you won't be able to slip it over the pulleys.......I know

Thanks MHM & BB.

Spent an hour with them in Halfrauds, and they only carry a small range!

I will measure it up tomorrow, centre to centre min and max (x2) plus 1/2 diameter on each pulley, and then it seems like fleabay!

Just wrap a bit of 10mm rope round and measure that......saves alot of nasty mathsificationing :)

Fially got the v belt! :D
813mm which apparently is a bit of an oddball size, which also fits the Morris Minor 1000, so i've ordered another as a spare! ;);)
All fitted, bled and working now! :D
I'm getting too old to lie in the sleet to do these jobs ... Although I've been saying that for the past 30 years!
