passed mot!! yeeee haaaa....

30 hours of welding in 6 days... as well as workin! i'm knackered....

Filled tank full of diesel, placed all my wordly goods inside it, towed a sofa up the M6 to my new place. Might use a trailer next time, sofa was ruined.

Ordered a couple of new wiper parts and completed my bulkhead welding :D as well as drivers side footwell and mud guard

Leave me with the grinding, passenger footwell and some drilling to do for the new wipers

Getting so close to finishing now

Sorted the tracking, according to the guy that did it, it was "off the scale"? Adjusted to the correct settings the steering centres quicker, seems lighter and hopefully my new tyres will wear evenly.
With the steering box drop arm at the correct 90 degrees angle, the wheels pointing straight ahead and the tracking set, the steering wheel is now almost a quarter turn off centre. So jobs for today 1) reposition the steering wheel and 2) adjust the lock stops to give maximum lock without catching.

Just got mine back from annual State Vehicle Inspection (same basic thing as MoT), and it came through with flying colors! Not bad since I just bought it at a fairly inexpensive price, and had a suspicion that the seller knew something that I didn't.
Next thing I'm going after is the heater. I seem to have quite effective AC, but no heat and will be looking first at the mixture flap servo motor and its connections. I notice that the manual shows some vehicles with a different set-up with little knobs that seem to work the flap levers through cables, with no servo motors. It looks a lot simpler and more reliable. Has anyone transplanted this option into a vehicle with the digital heater controls? Would it be worth the effort?

Today I have cleaned my wheels and tyres of mud and grease, tyres still brown though :(

Also, removed clumps of mud from behind my flexi arches, dirty horrible job!

Looked into mounting my CB, come up with a half sensible option if it wasnt for my slide out screen getting in the way....

Welded on the windsceen mounts and fitted the fuel tank back in as well as painted a couple of bits

Picked up plenty of bits and bobs for tomorrow though, chemical metal is going to save me some agro welding the inside of the bulkhead

Made mine turn from like a dirty brown tea stained beige sort of colour, to a nearer to white.

I just need to give it a quick polish now.:p:p:p

Opened the bonnet and decided to do a bit on the engine as it was a nice day.

Fitted top hose, 200tdi to 300tdi rad and they said it cant be done ..huh..easy. Just turn the thermostat housing around to point to the nearside and fit hose right shape off dont know what but had to insert a piece of smaller hose into rad end as it was to big but fitted ok and looks perfect.

need to fit oil pipes to turbo next and try and make dipstick fit as its a bit tight at the moment.:)
