Soldered a new end on the wire to the starter that was broke....

Painted the outside toilet door in a very fetching dark blue.

fixed the sink waste pipe in the garage.

all Landy related:D

fitted a replacement rear window. the bust 200tdi window had both connections for the heater element on the hinge side.... the replacement out of a 300 has one connection on each side of the window......so one of me wires is 3 foot too short..... dont think ive actually ever used the window heater though so i might not bother

Oil and filter change. Of course, got some up my arm when taking the sump plug out and as ever managed to miss the oil tray and empty half a pint of old oil on the road

Finally got round to getting the old exhaust manifold off!! it was leaking like a sieve, blowing fumes into the cab.. had the new manifold.. unfortunately not an orig part, but it fits, at least. took fkn 3 hours to separate the inlet manifold from the exhaust manifold, resulting in the ex man looking like I had chucked a hand grenade into it! turns out those skinny little bolts don't like to be exposed, and will hang on for dear life... they now don't look very happy, and.. guess what, I havn't got ant replacements!! also the one bolt in the centre of the exhaust maniold refused to accept a spanner, and had to be moled out! so I also need a new nut, but the thread is some strange type, that I dare say will take me all day tomorrow to find. lucky I don't need to drive anywhere, as it is dark now, and I've had enough of routing about in the oily grime... and while underneath I noticed a large crack appeared in my chassis, next to the petrol tank, so I am assured another days work, just in case I fancied planning something else...:ballchain:

Well I managed to fire up the bugger today using a power pack

Stupid things still overheating or not……..gauge is definitely off as it went right up past the red zone, water pumps working cos I saw it pumping (had the cap off to get rid of any airlocks) and the water wasn't even boiling

Plus I could touch the engine block and it didn't burn my hand so it was defo under 100*

Only thing I noticed was that after it hit boiling point when I was running it to remove airlocks is that it seemed to create a scum on top of the water, not much but it was there although I think it was mainly bits of crap coming off the rad's insides as I don't think I flushed it out fully with the hose.

Fixed the driver's door opening mechanism (interior), replaced the bonnet hinge bushes, reduced the vibration level to almost acceptable (replaced another injector) and removed 4 rare species of moss and lichen from the window channels, gutter and roof (don't tell SEPA!!) :)

Have had a successful couple of days work, got front spots wired up and working, installed a Mud centre dash thingy with new closk, 12v power supply and CD Radio. Made a start on replacing all the rear lights/indicators until i buggered up me reversing light, so an emergency temp repair has taken place using the rear spotlight as a reversing light!! The joys of landies...

Got the grinder out after messing about trying to undo the wing bolts. Got most of them ground off. Run out of light and patience.

nothing! the Doris bullied me into cutting the hedge (trees more like) that surround our garden. I hate anything to do with plants, I don't even like eating them.

Fitted a Layfette Venus cb under the drivers seat.
Also fitted an Audiovox flip screen with reverse camera fitted in the "O" of Land Rover on the rear bumper.
Got to fit a gizmo between the stereo and amp to dampen the signal to the amp so it doesn't blow.
Removed the front from the origional radio cassette, cut out all the innards and superglued the buttons back on and it fit's snugly over the new stereo when parked up so it look as though I have the bog standard cassette player fitted!!
That'll do for a couple of weeks!!

Ooooh. Has someone re-gained some enthusiasm? Nice one mate.:)

I took my landy for a spin to do a couple of diagnostic sessions locally. Found the Coil pack cream crackered on a corsa and a boost solenoid fubared on a laguna. Both peeps are happy to fix the vehicles themselves so nice easy money for an hours work.:)
