Well It's not leaking at the mo  just have to keep checking it if it leaKS i'll top it up as required. Gonna get another axle & HD diff pan and weld it in place. & fir noo springs & shocks then do same for this axle and keep it as a spare. for when the inevitable happens. :(

If ya gonna use the epoxy resin metal mend type ****. Ya need to degrease the area completely or it won't stick. the weep on mine was minute so cleaned & degreased the area before applying it in 3 coats each one covering a bigger area than the previous layer. Use a wet finger or small paint brush to smooth it down as you're applying it.

Thanks for that red, I tried that metal mend stuff on the front, and yeah it's cr@p, got a new pan welded on instead. Was just hoping to seal rear diff temporarily until end of summer (gotta find/buy car for Mrs. 1st:doh:), but I'm getting used to crawling underneath to check/top up diff oil. Deffo having a go with the stuff you've used though;)

Cleanlyness is the key.
I had to strip out both halfshafts and diff. Wassh it in petrol inside and out then make a "rivet" of "metal mastic" inside and out - worked ok on the Dibnah until i sold it :D.

Gave the inside of me freeby a clean for the 1st since buying it 6 months ago.

How come they collect so much crap inside so quickly:confused:
