Made up some gutter mounts for my new light bar yes the spacers are fuel pipe :pDidn’t fancy paying the £50-£80 they are on eBay. Just need to paint them Matt black and glue something on the inside to take out the side wobble I have at the minuet

Metalastic. I try to go LR standard every time. Poly bushes wear out quickly.

Found the squeak....
It's a front UJ. May be the missing nipple may be the cause of the failure:oops: was there 2 months ago.
Went to my spares box & UJ gone rusty. Time to buy some more

Took front wheels off and scrubbed inside of alloys with hot soapy water until they looked like new. While the wheels were of I exercised the caliper pistons and put a smear of copperslip where the pad holes rub on the pins. Then took it to get the wheels re-balanced.

How much lead did they use? I reckon mine cost more in the scrap price of lead than they charged to do the job.

Cheers
Long strips of the adhesive backed stuff on the inside and other large lumps clipped to the rim.:) Cost £6.00 per wheel so I reckon I got my monies worth. That's what they were like before, but I'd found a flat weight on the drive so decided to get them redone. Cleaned them so the stood the best chance of sticking when redone.

I don't bother balancing mine, they're Extreme pattern re-treads so not really worth it .. but the cleaning of the insides and working of the calipers etc is something I always do when I get an odd 1/2 hour or so. Had enough brake 'experiences' to try and overcome them before they happen now .. ;)

Do you not get a bit of wheel wobble?

No.

I only use the Landy now for getting to Green Lanes or events, and only rarely at home, maybe if the wifes or sons cars are out and I need something, it's basically a toy. As such, even on motorways I mostly stick to speed limits or below, certainly I don't nowadays run at 75+ for hours even in a hurry!

Only time I've had wheel wobble have been through bushes wearing, something breaking or forgetting to pump the tyres up before driving quicker ... Oh, and occasionally between sticky muddy lanes when gobs of mud/crap have stuck on the insides of wheels, which is often short lived, but also why I check my wheels and brakes after every weekend, or even day, away laning .. :)
