Just bled my clutch. It's felt like it's been dragging a little recently, and first and reverse have been a bit reluctant to engage. It sounds simple, but it's hard to get to the master cylinder lid because of all the pipes and wires, and my pressure bleed thingy wouldn't fit on despite it being the right thread. Eventually I got it engaged and inched it around a few degrees at a time with water pump pliers 'til it was tight enough to make a seal. Then the nipple wouldn't undo. Anyway, I got it bled and flushed some new fluid through. The old stuff seemed rather discoloured. Initial impressions just in the street outside suggest a better gearchange. I'll take it for a run to see how it does 'in the field'. What I need to try out is some precision parking on a steep slope where you've got to shuttle between first and reverse and use the clutch a lot to give it a real test.

MOT day for the Ninety today. Straight through, no advisories, tester was quite complimentary about the condition of the 26 year old vehicle. :)

My coolant reservoir used to leak out of the cap. Not a lot, but after a motorway run there'd be runs of dried up antifreeze visible. I was wondering whether there was a head gasket problem, but I've just fitted a new cap and after a couple of good blasts on the motorway there are no leaks visible. So it must just have been the breather in the top of the cap not holding pressure. Nice cheap solution.

I discovered the holes in the passenger footwell and diesel tank the dealer had sneakily hidden
Worried what else I might find tomorrow...

Drove home from holiday in Wales and got 33 mpg :)
90 with 200tdi and roof rack, speedo spot on, its from Triumph Dolomite 1300 and records speed and miles very accurately
Kept speed down below 50 on A roads and steady 50 on motorway

I've been trundling about admiring the countryside. Here's an interesting vintage number, in need of some welding for MOT.

There's not a lot left, but I like that gear driven winch.Spotted at Rhosydd quarries near Blaenau Ffestiniog. 'Twas a lovely day so I trudged on up through the slate tips. Here's the remains of the slate dressing workshops, with accommodation blocks for the workers to the right of the picture:

Here's another set of workshops:

A view from the top of Moelwyn Mawr. It's only 2500 feet or so, not even a Munro, but you're up in the clouds.

Great pics - I've been there a few times - used to live at Capel Curig :)

Just received my box of goodies for my Defender. New rear brake drums, new heavy duty hubs all round, Complete set of gaskets so I can strip the front axle down to try and find where a vibration is coming from. That takes care of next weekend.

Fitted some new badges and repeaters. Next weekend is window tinting and the weekend after (if I order the stuff!) sound proofing the load space :)

Opened up the key fob to find out why it was only working intermittently, soldered the broken connections and fitted a new battery. Carried out more repairs to the alarm and door locks.
And finally opened the bonnet, topped up all fluids etc and adjusted bonnet catch. Only to find the cable must have pulled out cos I can't open it again

Fitted a tracker today. Here's part of my test drive round Leicester:

I know it's probably not very exciting to those of you who've been doing it for years, but i can't get over the novelty of getting it to draw diagrams of where I've been.
