I was going in a clockwise direction. If you go round Leicester widdershins terrible things might happen, like in the story of Childe Rowland where they get transported to Elf Land.
 
Fitted an Anderson connector to my front grille and bought some decent 35mm fully insulated 4.5m jump leads from halfords of all places (only £35)

However, come to fit the other plug to the leads and the cable is too think. I'll have to chop away at some of the copper stands to make it fit. Plus even my biggest heat shrink wouldn't go over the cable so orders more. Will post complete pics when done

Neat! I got some jump leads off ebay, reduced from £60 to £17. Very happy :D

I built myself a storage box to house my jump leads, tow rope, recovery strop, shackles and gloves. When undertaking the project i realised im **** with measureing, **** with a jigsaw and **** with woodwork in general BUT it holds all my gear and gets it out the way.

Just need to find somewhere to store my toolkit....
 
GOT MY WINCH TODAY!!!! It came a day early so put my new tarp over my car port frame I acquired gave the rain the finger and got my winch fitted. I went with the winch-it zed. Took my time making the grill fit snug round the winch then realised I hadn't left enough room to put the cover over the winch so spend alot more time trying to cut as little as possible away to allow me to get the cover on. Only took me about 5 hrs but its done now. Even moved the land rover badge from the middle of the grill to the side above the winch motor and put the cut off switch in the remaining grill. I'll get a pic up when it's light again
 
Managed to move the land rover badge and fit a cut off switch in the grill

Looked at it and thought do I feel like fitting the new rear brake drums, new heavy duty hubs all round and strip the front axle. Thought " not today" went and had a lay down till the feeling passed.
 
Thought about all the work I got ahead of me,

Rear wheel bearings,
CVs all round,
UJs all round,
Axle oil change,
T/F Box oil change,
Gear Box oil change,
Engine oil change
+ filters

and that should be the transmission working again...

Brake bleed,
Investigate why handbrake is like cheese
Change front discs
Investigate dash electrics
Build a proper harness for work light (that isn't just bits of tape...)
Boot storage
Interior light (fit one)
Investigate why blowers blow with all the force of a gerbils fart
windscreen seal....

thirsty just thinking about it
 
Refitted my grill beacons in the remaining grill after fitting my winch and put a new earth lead on my second battery that goes to chassis and alternator clamp hopefully that will help with the power drain problems
 
Removed the drivers door lock to find out I've got the wrong ones, put the hose back on behind the clocks so it now it blows on both sides of the windscreen.
Fixed the heater so now I can have hot or cold although I have to do it under the bonnet as the cable has no end to connect to in the dash, and soaked the fan speed connection to try and free that off.
Also wired the rear door into the alarm.
 
Started to change all four hubs for heavy duty ones and put new rear brake drums, hope it might spot one wheel locking up before the other. I have renewed pads and brake cylinders recently.
 
Holy crap. Why is the simplest of jobs turn out the fiddly ones?!! Just took my bench seats out... Taking the bolts out was a proper pain in the arse. Done now though and i got a nice new mat :)

I think it might be because landrovers aren't designed to be worked on alone. They assume there will always be someone to hold the spanner on the back. Their staff are always in the factory or in the main stealer, assistance is always there when needed :)

I got someone from over the road to come and hold the spanner... One of the bolts decided it didn't want to play nicely... Combined with the fuel tank pipe being in the way, having under the wheel arches dinitroled and also it being a bit muddy it was just annoying! Done now though!

Yes, Dinitrol and such are great for the underside, but not a pleasure to work with, very hard to get off clothes and hair! :(
