Took a ride in my mates Astra he just rebuilt to pick up some parts for the landy, Needed a change of undies after that!

Thought I had sorted my reverse light switch position yesterday but now it stays on so will be attacking it again today. Think the lever that pushes the switch might be gunked up so will clean it then adjust it and hope that will sort it out

Got my Defender back about a week or so ago from my Landy guy. He changed the clutch and changed all the seals on the transfer box. Its not been running as smooth as it was before the clutch went. Thought I would check transfer box oil level. Almost empty. Looked underneath, oil everywhere; All over the exhaust etc. Took it back. Its booked in for two days, he thinks he knows what the problem is. Anyway he is going to fix it free of charge and gave me a courtesy car.

Spent the day underneath my 110 removing the fuel tank and trying to find out where this diesel drip is coming from - leak found - whoever put the new tank in did not tighten the retainer ring for the fuel gauge assembly - then the heavens decided to open as I was putting it all back together - note to self...do not park over a dip, it is likely to become a small lake with a little downpour...!!!!
next job, finding out why my high beam and windscreen wipers have packed up....any ideas? (fuses are good)...

attempted to sort my reverse lights again today they now work when they want to but now don't work in forward gears so it's progress.
you mentioning high beam reminds me, I need to sort my high beam flash.

think I might put the reverse lights back to the manual switch as it was when I got it and put my roof lights on another switch in the other hole in my dash

Yesterday I painted the Chassis & the van sides Oh and the sparewheel. ANything to stop peeps from whinging about em been White

Today I developed a nasty Vibration at 40/45mph. Rear Prop UJ tearing itself apart at Diffend and loose as fook at brakedrum end.. :(

how easy is it to change the lights / windscreen wipers from the stalks to individual switches??:eek:

Fairly straight forward, need a wiring diagram and or a multimeter.
Knowledge of electrics a big advantage but wires are colour coded and its pretty basic wiring on older Landys especially.

hmmm, I have manuals with diagrams - and a few spare switches to wire them up to - no multimetre tho - my electrical skills are medium I would say - never done this tho - any advice? its a 1991 110 defender

Lights is easy wipers is harder if yu want more than one speed.

For lights you'll need an on-off-on switch
