I have. It shows as front left abs sensor. It does have a history of all others thoo but no current code for those. I did replace the front right and rear right abs sensor . And now just did front left as it said on the diagnostic tool. I'm all out of options. Unless I do the rear left . But no codes show up for that one. We ran it to see which codes show up and it's only the front left that doesn't show a speed reading and the rear right sometimes does a weird read where it takes a while to show it working. Maybe go back and clean the inside of the little thingy where the sensor goes in?

Today i fitted our new hifi, finally have bluetooth so can take handsfree calls and listen to music without a damn aux cable flapping about!

Got it stuck yesterday despite fully working VCU, TC and All Terrain tyres.
Where?
Embarrassingly my own bloody back garden.

Its ****-wet here, been raining for weeks. Everything is completely sodden. I park my trailer behind the garage which is down a bit of a slope on the back lawn - I reversed it into its place and then it just wouldnt come back up the slope. The grass is so wet that your feet sink into it when walking.
I tried just easing it gently, I tried giving it a bit of revs so the TC does its thing, I tried flooring it and going Full Clarkson but it just wouldnt go. I tried letting the tyres down a bit, but that did nothing either. It starting slipping sideways and I didnt fancy getting it wedged in amongst the trees at the bottom of the garden.
Much messing about with some straps and hand winches got it half-way up, and I abandoned it for the night as it started raining heavily again. Its slightly firmer ground around the base of the tree due to its shallow roots and I managed to drive it out from there this morning.

The lawn is screwed though.

Here is a boring dashcam clip of proceedings....

lol, sounds like one of those things you could have done without!

Had similar fun today - had to move my non starting 109 from the drive in front on the garage to behind it - all in all about an 8m shift and most of it was just an 'easy' push but on the corner of the garage there's a tree stump that the back wheels had to go either side of and the front ones had to swing around it.

Unfortunately the tree/roots raised that ground so pushing wasn't an option. No space to get the Freelander in for a pull/push - so out come the straps, to find the diff caught the stump! So had to run it over blocks.

All in all a couple of hours pushing, pulling and ratcheting - and I'd have loved some rain as it was in the low 30's here. Knackered!

I was trying to get the lower outer cam belt cover off and the middle of the three 8mm bolt was seized in its thread. The captive brass nut just spun. Well I got it off but broke the pedestal off the inner cam cover that this bolt goes into - :censored:

Moor shenanigans in the snow

I had to do a hill start at like 45deg degrees on compacted ice  1st gear, traction control kicking in and off she went

I had to go off road to get past 2WD cars blocking the road, who were trying to dig themselves out of trouble. Again she didn't put a wheel wrong.

I'm waiting for a decent snowfall to have a proper play, but I'm so impressed so far

It was like a 4x4 convention up there as everyone came out to have a play

Heater could have been better though, I need to sort the FBH sometime and perhaps flush the heater matrix

Replaced the cracked air-con belt, replaced the rear diff mounts so I can return the faulty centre diff mount (less than a year old & VCU & bearings replaced so shouldn't have gone this quickly) & gave it a hoover.
Still waiting for the snow to come down south so I can have a play!

MOT'd it after realising it had lapsed

Both track rod ends need replacing and the seat belt is frayed. Only 1 advisory that brake pads are low. Happy with that, wasn't sure what he was going find

Get that sorted this week :)

Put some air in the tyres, drives much better now. Tried to tax it 3 different ways, to no avail, found out the front section of the exhaust which should be separate from the cat is actually attached to the cat so its going to cost £100 instead of £35 to replace, booked a space on my mates ramp tomorrow to replace it, and to take the prop shaft off, feels like the brakes are on a bit going backwards, and a lot going backwards on full lock. Also had the EML on a couple of times briefly but it's gone off again, so I'll plug it in tomorrow and see what it says.

Fixed the rear door handle. You couldn't open the door from the outside, just needed the rod inside the lock mechanism again.

Mucked about with the FBH. It'll attempt to fire, but it cuts out after a minute. I did it a few times and the air from it's exhaust was getting warmer but it still wouldn't run. I've added some fuel cleaner to the tank in the hope that coaxes it to run.

I think it needs a new thermostat, but I'm tempted just to have it running all the time and remove the fuse from spring to autumn.

We should swap :p

I've just been on youtube watching videos and I noticed that I haven't got the clicking from the fuel pump? before it fires.

If I can get it to fire and run, I'll join the wires together from the thermostat by the bumper and just remove the fuse when I don't need it any longer.

I initially thought it might be the glow plug or something, but the lack of clicking has thrown me now

Sorted the f.....ing windscreen wipers !!!! after the snow had froze them to windscreen the intermittent had gone all tits up

anyway motor strip was needed to find the problem

thought it would be a warn down pin but after stripping and cleaning the cog i have this

(have plastic welded the hole up in the top pic)
as you can see even the cooper disk has warn at the edge, both this and the hole in the plastic def made the intermittent go crazy!!!!!!

Soldered the metal ring
so that is fixed ,finished the plastic bit (below pic before i finished sanding the plastic flat

added some solder to one of the pins so all now needed is

tomorrow get some self tappers so i can put the motor cover back on as had to drill the rivets out to open it

AND OF COURSE HOPE ITS WORKED!!!!!!!!!

Fair point BUT a TENNER is still a TENNER this just cost me 20 mins of my time,a part of a carrier bag from nettos and a piece of sandpaper ,call me tight but in my mind i win :0

Scored another motor from the scrapyard today for a box of beer. It's a 1.4 out of a Rover hatch. They took it out with their digger!. No induction - all broken, g'box housing smashed, But PAS pump good, alternator good, starter motor good. Head good - it wasn't there due to a HGF - no mayo seen. Looks like the original HG too. Cam carrier has been removed & refitted. Love the red sealant used on either end of the inlet manifold.

holey g'box - love the red sealer on the ILM
block looks good.
Head looks good too. No obvious signs of HGF - original HG?
