I took the bottom of the injector off, took pin out etc and cleaned in an ultrasonic bath full of degizer for 30 mins. One of the injectors was totally blocked which is the one I started with as, if it broke, nothing lost. All went well so I did the other one that wasn't affecting the running as bad but when disconnected there wasn't a major difference.

The job, initially, was quite scary but with a little care on how it came apart and ensuring that you don't drop the little parts it wasn't too bad. I will probably do the other two when I get time and will take pictures if interested.

Hi Dai.
Thank you and am always interested in good educational posts as we are always learning, even better if backed up with photo's I think, I try and photo all the work I carry out on my cars for future reference and to help on the forums if I can, cheers Arctic2

Tried to remember what it looks like......

I used my Leaf to go on a long trip up north instead. Saved me a fortune in fuel.

Took off props and VCU to test if the noise i am getting comes from the VCU bearings

Wrong .......... so had to put it back on again

My noise sounds like front wheel bearings - i've seen these at all sorts of prices including an offer from Poland with the bearing pre-fitted to the hub

Where is the "best" (cheapest for a good quality bearing) to go ???

not today but over the weekend...
replaced this:

and fitted these:

so I could install these:

and gave the rear diff an oil change and a lick of paint:

now I need new:
dif mounts; ARB bushes and drop links; VCU bearings and UJs

I just purchased from LR Direct. Famous Four do a good price too. Check that if you buy the bearing does it come with the nut and cir clip. The kit does but if you buy the bearing separate then you need to get the other bits too.

Fitted new Fuel pump this evening. Pressed in new front wheel bearing ready to refit drive shaft in the morning. Drive flange is in the freezer to make pressing this onto the steering knuckle/hub mount easier!

Thanks HTR

what size press do you need to get the front wheel bearings in ??

will a big bench vice do the trick ??

Fitted a new DR650GW dash cam.

Oh, hang on, that was the Leaf.

I looked at the Freelander which is looking unloved, across the street.

You need to get the codes read - I've had the 3 amigos twice and both times its been the modulator (shuttle valves).
