A couple of weekends back I went down to Beachy Head for a stroll along the cliff tops with the Mrs. My plan of pushing her off was scuppered when I stepped on a piece of molten bubble gum.

It stuck like sh!t to a blanket to the bottom of my shoe. I thought I'd gotten it off after a slightly odd moonwalk dance across the carpark. Alas, it was still there!

Being on the tarmac for so long made it nice and sticky. So much so it matted with my clutch pedal quite nicely.

In a lay-by just outside Eastbourne, frustration got the better of me. I ripped the rubber off and threw it into a bush.

Hence, today, I fitted a new rubber.







Looking at the wear on the brake pedal, I might change that one too as I got a pair of new rubbers.
 
had the srs light problem sorted by a nice man at local garage who plugged his code reader thing in fault was seatbelt pre tensioner and plug under drivers seat he cleared faults and all is well cost me a tenner
had the tracking done after fitting new track rod ends to both side and even tho I counted the threads on and of it was way out but its all sorted now
I have developed what sounds like a hollow rattle coming from under the front end somewhere when I go over rough ground so that's the next investigation when the weather is nice
 
1.8 petrol - Removed oil pump, dismantled and cleaned. Used Dremel and TC bits to ease 3 right angle turns on the inside [ cf http://kengine.dvapower.com]. Will finish off with a polish up using 400 sanding disc. Fit new seal, O ring and P/R spring, reassemble, Prime and refit. Easy! :cool2:

Fitted another bit of plastic! An got it a little muddy again

Fitted a new intercooler to inlet hose, the old one had turned a bit mushy. Seems to have perked it up a bit:)

Fitted a new bit of foam pipe insulation to protect it from the screw head and a bit on the heater hose where it touches the air filter cover corner.

Should save any nasty surprises.

fitted new anti roll bar bushes today easy enuff job bolts undone no problem
also noticed the new drop links I fitted less than 6 months ago-the rubber round the tops of the bush have all split already (both sides) that's not good seeing as I paid over £20 each side though they would have lasted a bit longer than that.
 
Made a temp repair to the short intercooler hose on front of engine bay. Bit of gaffa tape around it to get me home after I split 1/3 of the way round.
The hose just before it that rubs on the screw is looking a bit thin near the screw and the next hose along is abit oily but no hole found. Think I might have to splash out on a set of silicon hoses, I just don't want the screw to go through them!

I gaffer taped some hard plastic onto the hose, so it sits between the hose and the screw......now the plastic rubs on the screw.......I noticed there are lots of hoses that rub against things on the td4.....

Good idea. I was thinking along the lines of a cut up coke can or similar but I suppose all I need is a bit of some tape and some plastic

I have the same rattle. I thought it might have had something to do with the old plastic under tray but it's still there after making a new 3mm chequer plate tray.
 
Fitted a new (well, used) outer door handle to the drivers door. The old one was cracked. Also sorted the little flap in the keyhole.

A bit fiddly, but something I've been meaning to for a while…

How fiddly was it, time estimate wise? I have 4 black ones to replace the darkgrey ones. If its like 1 hour one each door im not seeing that being done anytime soon.
