Solved my new found leaking 3 door boot.

New to the LR ownership and after reading many posts about a leaking cubby box I thought I better check mine.. yeah it was soaked ! pulled the carpet out and that was also full of water so thats now out to dry.. found the leak to be coming from the bottom corners of the window sealer with the right hand side the worst.

I solved the leak by filling the seal with shreading plastic bags to make it more harder and closer seal. Photos are attached to show what bits I mean and how it looked afterwards. Tested with the hose a few times and just cleaned the car and not a drop of water inside. .. FIXED !

I got the AA to transport my Freelander back to the garage I bought it from two weeks ago. The clutch master cylinder needs to be replaced and the handbrake seems to be binding after it's released. Oh, the HDC switch seems faulty, the wipers stopped working, the horn buttons on steering wheel don't work. Thankfully it's still under 3 month warranty.

Good for you - get them to sort it! I seriously considered re fitting prop shaft, flushed with success of drive spigot now back in IRD. Anyhow, mild enuf for such an adventure but looked like it would piz down any minute - then it didn't. Ho Hum! Maybe tomorrow.

Changed the VCU and bearings, many thanks to Hippo for his guide, I now feel a lot more confident, I was going to change the oil in the IRD but gave up due to the rain and wind, oil change can wait until tomorrow

That's OK - its just one o them rules!:) The filler can be a fecker to undo, best from underneath with a longish extension bar and decent 19mm (iirc) socket.

All being sorted as I type, nice to deal with a 2nd hand dealer who doesn't try mess you about.

Good to hear!!

I have now restored 4 wheel drive to the old girl, after much swearing. Went fer a quick spin around the block and all seems fine. Bet it wont snow in these parts again for years - actually, hope it doesn't cos I'm a bit of a BOF and I hate the fecking stuff!!:D

What did you use to get the bumper so black?
Apologies if you said and I missed it...
