Today I put on new drop links and freed up the pinch bolts on the track rod ends. I did soak them for a couple of days with a mix of acetone and ATF fluid, which seems to be as effective as people claim. Got to get new tyres now and then get the tracking done. Part of me really wants to have a go at the tracking now I've got the track rods freed up, but I don't see how you can tell if you have got it right until you have driven enough miles to notice uneven wear, and by then it is too late. They ought to have a pressure sensor 'carpet. that registers the pressure across the width of the tyre as you roll forward. Going to take it to local Landrover garage to get it done. Would rather someone who has a feel for it than someone who is just pressing buttons on a fancy machine.

Did a headlight restoration using Turtle Wax kit for my 2004 TD4. Both headlights had a lot of this cloudiness. Didn't wait that much for a 18€ kit but have to say headlights are really clear and bright now. Let's see how long this lasts.

The kit had somekind of ceramic UV coating that was applied after polishing. But cheap fix, probably won't last forever.

On my FL1 I used a restoration kit every year before the MOT to keep the headlights clear.

My FL2 has a small patch of yellowed polycarbonate, where the spray coating has come away. It's not an issue just yet, as it's outside the headlight beam area, but I will need to address it at some point.

I did my headlights a year or so ago but it wasn't very satifactory as I couldn't get the light guards off. As a result they've gone all milky again and I'm going to have work out how to get the guards off properly. The screws through the wing just turn. I guess I'm going to have to get the wheel arch liner off and see if I can get to the fittings somehow.

Changed the ATF on my 2011 FL2. Well, half of it, but I'd previously done it a few months and 4000 miles ago.

Used iCarsoft v2.0 LR to give ATF temp, but you have to tell the unit its plugged into a 2012 Evoque...

Gear changes appear smoother.

Strange that you've got to do that, if anything I'd have thought it might be the other way around, where the icarsoft might not have been aware of the newer model, but would recognise and thus be willing to work with the earlier model. *shrug* glad you found something that works and are feeling a benefit from your work, hope the benefit also runs tin increased longevity / improved reliability.

Checked the IRD oil level. Last time was a year ago. This LR must a special edition because it doesnt leak anything. It's also a pleasure to do maintenance when it is not done by professionals but by myself. For example the IRD level plug is not overtightened and rounded.
