Hmmmm, got me thinking about doing mine now!
Thoroughly recommend it Monkfish. !
Most good tyre places now (not the Kwikfit SH!tters etc) have the right gear and can do it for you. Long gone are the days of horrendous prices. It should cost no more than 30 minutes time - maybe less. Here it would be twenty Euro.
The math is easy when you look at it - the front wheels go on a rotating disk. the rears and fronts are connected to laser and gyro clip on units. - they are all MEMS units meaning the position relative to a known point (the ramp usually) is easy to measure for any or all - even tiny - angular change in all directions is possible. camber, castor (by turning the front lock to lock) , toe in / out - front and rear etc etc.
The main box has a full database of manufacturers specs.

See this image Something similar to this - in fact identical ! - - but the colours where different lol -
Clips on all four wheels and connect by wireless to the main box... freeking bl00dy amazing.

They even centre the steering wheel - the machine even guides them to do that - the the degree level ! ! - then they lock the steering wheel in position with clamps from the floor to the wheel. - All adjustments now are absolutely correct with respect to the steering wheel alignment. No offset wheel etc..

Man I am well impressed ! - and really cheap. ! - don't be conned by so called specialists - just find a local quality tyre place as all quality tracking and alignment is now done this way.

LOL, this was me setting the wheel alignment on my car last night.

I used the super hi tech string theory method. :p
I'll check it again after putting it back on the ground and letting the suspension settle but will probably need to take it for a proper wheel alignment later.

You crazy person you. You make sure you don't crash into a tower block and start world war 3!! ;)

Today, I removed the wishbones, found out that taking them out of the damper wasn't as easy as I first thought, spent far too long on that before I gave up and ordered new dampers.

Then I changed the drop links, removed the last locking wheel nut off the car, without a key! good riddance! refitted a Cv boot which has been popping off all the time. tried to repair the front propshaft Cv boot and changed the IRD oil.

If you put the front mount in a vice and twist very hard while bashing the old wishbone with a hammer it will eventually give in. If you drown it with release oil for 24 hours it helps too.

Or loads of black smoke due to lack of ability of the 'operator' and alleged diesel 'mechanic'

in tuning an engine to any degree at all
Not to mention the ridiculous OWUT... -- you have been on the pop again grumpy ?

seems like a habit you need to moderate.....
Bits of string are conducive to the ability of the 'user' to comprehend the implications of suspension changes.....
I look forward to the results.

Your personal vendetta is getting boring now. You've been told time after time to drop it. You probably hold the record for highest number of deleted posts now. Well done.
Reported yet again.

It isn't personal, it is protective of others. :)

No Joe its clearly personal. you attack me at every given opportunity for whatever reason you fancy. I'm viewing it as internet bullying, trolling whatever you want to call it. I will not get into an open fight with you as that is clearly what you are after. I am leaving it in the hands of the moderators to sort out as they see fit.

Sorry Warren, it is not, you may want to portray it as that, but that is not the case.
I think you are a top guy - I really do.
I just wish you would add disclaimers and I think it would be also VERY helpful to you and your expanding business - and I really wish you well.
And, you get your wish, I will NOT reply or respond in any way to your posts. I am sorry you feel that way. I have had my say. Keep up the good work and again, I wish you well in your business. I also expect that you NOT respond to any of mine - An acceptable but maybe not fully agreeable status quo. - but - the end of the matter.
Joe.

I appreciate your concerns, however - don't labour the point DD. :)
End of chat. ;)

If you stop being so patronizing and acting like God, it will be as far as i'm concerned, take a long hard look at how you come across to every member on here, your reply is a prime example. There is absolutely no sincerity in it. I am happy to see how it goes. But I will not tolerate any more out bursts from you, Do you accept that?
