You did all that? That's just asking for hgf within 2 weeks! In my experience freelanders know when to break just after you spend lots of time and money on them

Has a k series engine ever made it to 200k?

The Head gasket was replaced at 85,000 with the uprated one, I've never heard of a freebie getting to 200,000 but I'm determined to try. :) as I use it at work every day I'm doing about 30,000 a year so another 2 years and it should make it, it will only be 16 years old then so should keep going for ages yet !!

This little beauty arrived yesterday. Guess what I'm doing at the weekend!

I used RTV sealant on the 1.8 Freelander sump in mine without a gasket, works fine 100% leak free, part of a bigger project though, head gasket renewal and changed the oil rail, did it correctly, and used Hylomar sealant.

Cheers.

I dropped the underbelly protection, drained the oil, removed the bottom of the sump and repaired the hairline crack in it that was letting oil weep through

the repair is setting now - back on the car in 2 hours or so

couldn't get a new gasket so going to take a risk on the old one :)

what fun these freelanders !!!!!!

Mines arrives on Friday from bell along with bearing.. Hoping to have mine off ready for the UPS arriving with my new one

I removed my prop a while ago and had hoped to have it ready for the UPS driver but have suddenly been inundated with work.
Looks like it will be a Sunday job to refit it all!

Really..... The wheels have more offset than hippo wheels, they will stick out when I change tyres if I runn spacers as well!

You trying to sell me some?

I'd have thought some 5mm spacers would fit. Make it look more aggressive too.
