Sod's Law in action...
I should have tested the wipers before I put it all back together but it never crossed my mind that the wipers would be affected fitting a stereo
The ground tag was so loose when I pushed it on it slid off easily so my pushing and shoving getting the top rail and side back on must have snagged it.
At least I know my way around the dash, binnacle and wiper box now ;)

Did you pinch the tag tighter ?

Took some old springs off and fitted longer softer ones

The spring on the right are +2” medium terrafirma, which with the 37” tyres didn’t give enough lift, so I had a pair of Britpart D2 rear heavy duty springs that I fitted and used for a while, they gave the required lift but were massively stiff so I had a pair of 18” springs made, with 17mm gauge and a spring rate of 240lbs and I think it’s about perfect.

I bet it would climb a tree if you hit it hard enough! :D:cool:

It looks cool as all hell

What shocks you using, I’ve had terrafirma but not impressed with them.

I got the plus 5" terrafirma pin to pin 4 way adjustable. The adjustment is useless as they have to stay on the softest setting to be comfortable. But ignoring the adjustment , they do the job, however the pins are not long enough and you need to really compress the bushes to make the nyloc engage.

I should have got the Gwyn Lewis +5" shocks that he sells. But I did not know about them at the time.

Cheers

I’ve been looking at the old man emu shocks at gwyn Lewis but there recommend for heavier vehicles so probably to firm for my truck cab 90. He’s got some pedders ones from Australia but I’ve googled them and they’ve poor reviews. Probably ring him tomorrow for a chat.

I recovered my top dash trim as it had a few rips and chunks missing, used some black vinyl off a well known auction site and a tin of spray contact adhesive. Very pleased with the end result.

Checked the oil
Checked the water
Started it
Moved it
Tidied up the inside
Relocated the spiders
Kicked the tyres
Put in my pruners for the dog walk tommorow

Gave the 90 Diffs, transfer box, gearbox and engine an oil change, greased the props then went machine mart and bought a compressor and accessories then started waxoyling, horrible job and to finish tomorrow, ready to get it muddy again.

Friday evening - Raptor painted rear axle, A-Frame Arms, Rear Trailing Arms, Rear Damper Mounts and A-Frame Mounts

Today - Removed the rusty crusty fuel filler neck [it was a bastard of a job...who the bloody hell fits ****ty slot head screws that can only be removed with a Bosch recip' cutter??!!] + fitted Raptor refurb'ed Fuel Tank...it looks lovely, Damper Arm Mounts, A-Frame Mounts and placed rear axle on trolley jack ready for t'row; then, bled brakes on a friends MGB GT. And....breathe

T'row - make fuel filler neck gasket, install new fuel filler neck... raise axle & fit Gwyn Lewis cranked trailing arms, springs + HD galv'd springs mounts, Terrafirma dampers, new 45deg adjustable ball joint [with grease nipple :)]. I would fit the A-Frame Arms but guess who forgot to order new bushes :(

Mon - new YRM floors, sill rails, sill rubbers & plates...am looking forward to this riveting time. Lunch, then cut grass and have a leisurely afternoon gardening...o_O
