Just fitted new aluminium rivnuts to the front leading edge bonnet adjusters. Controversially..."see st/st fixing thread" I've used A2 cap heads with flange grip nuts + flat washer ready for the rubber stops. Have used this technique many times before with zero deterioration/oxidisation to the rivnut/aluminium. The trick is to use a good grease coating on assembly to 1. ensure no galling, and 2. to provide a correct clamped protective layer between the screw and rivnut.

To share, I first bought one of these rivnut guns...do not buy one as they're a pile crap...

Collected my eBay purchase Wolf wheel end Cooper STT tyre. The seller had a nice new shiny galvy chassis ready to fit to his 90. I had serious chassis envy!:D
 
Today removed the central chassis support. Gauging it was the first time since leaving Lode Lane 33 years ago...also wanted to see what the chassis was like behind. Chassis's in tip top condition, same with the chassis support. However, there's always a however...I emptied 5x dustpans full of dried very fine sandy mud from inside the tube! Followed with a through high pressure jet wash. The chassis support is now drying ready for a good protective inner coating, buzz back and repaint before refitting. That's good as mud usually gets trapped between the chassis rail and the cross member flange and the rust can be pretty bad. Have you got the gearbox supported?
 
Today cleaned, buzzed back and zinc acid etch primed the chassis cross member and some smaller bits ready for some good coats of chassis extreme black and under hood black + discovered why the passenger door sliding window lock had stopped locking. It was an easy fix, the centre rotational cam had fallen off the knob lock square and was sat inside the window rail :( so whipped off both window locks, stripped, WD40 cleaned, reassembled and re-fitted. Both now like new :)
