Moved more tonnes of earth than my back wants to know about it. I knew I should have bought a trailer with a tipper mechanism...
Saw a nice convoy of British classic cars doing the Grand tour des Alpes- old jags and MGs aplenty.

And then blocked a utter hedgehog of a Audi driver all the way though the nice sporty bends on the way home. I'd have pulled in to let them pass if they'd not sat three inches off my trailer, honkig and flashing....

Pics or it didnt happen ;) .

You gonna get the engine in your shed and try work on it yourself??
Or have you got a V8 lined up:):), guess not as you would pull the box too:oops:.

I will post some up tomorrow :)
We are going to rebuild it and put it back in. If it is too bad then I will try and find a 300tdi and auto box complete.
I did want a V8 but it is not going to happen :)

Much the same as my old landy, taking the rad etc out in prep for engine removal in the next day or so. Simple job (not for me it isn't, it's a major arse) a clutch replacement, just ordered 100 quids worth of hoses, the heater hoses are brittle and crusty, and the end of the air filter to turbo hose is starting to fall apart where it gets a bit warm. When did hoses become so expensive?

earth connection off the wiper motor
Not sure if it depends on the year but on mine - 1985 90 - is to a tag on the bulkhead near the wiper motor. Can't remember if I had to take the n/s dash and top rail off to get to it or got to it from underneath the dash through the speaker hole as they were all off at the time; I think it was through the top.

Right, then it looks like I'm just patching in another bulkhead earth then. Mine is French, so the wiper motor is behind the instrument panel, making finding anythinng that bit harder!
