Stripped the rear 1/4 panels off my donor truck. Dropped them off to painter.
As much as I dont mind mine was a cheep rough disco with a few little dinks and gaffa tape on the front bumper I dont think I can live with that massive dent in the rear end :D

Project anyone... what were they thinking..

ur so welcome mate , indeed I’ve noticed that , side steps seem to be a water trap that can rot the sills out

I imagine u already know but the oil pump replacement is a must along with the belts inc the rear belt

yes well up on the oil pump issue I asked the seller on forum if he'd had pump done he came back telling me it had been done then quoted the service history entry at me saying " rear belt to pump changed " so I dont think he;'s very mechanically minded.

I asked as belts are due soon if he is going to do them prior to sale and he did say he could either do them ( wouldn't trust pump had been done though ) or give a discount but apparently it's got £££ in receipts so it may be worth a look with a fine tooth comb as its near enough

that’s sounds about right, mainly because they haven’t wanted for anything and been extremely well looked after ,

For a decent 2005 base model with around 100,000 miles , with everything done, belts and the body in good nick can get up to around £7k

Please feel free to pm me if I can be ok any help , think there’s about 10 x of us now that own D3s

With mine I bought it as a project , had errors with the suspension and airbag system and knew I could deal with that , took me a good while mind but got there in the end

have u driven one yet

Will do thank you

I'm after a decent higher spec one with as little rust as possible which for my budget is becoming difficult so I'm avoiding ones with steps on the side as a result but its still proving difficult as you can feel under the sill near the rear arch where there is the little bit not covered and on most ive looked at it feels a bit flakey

I've driven 2 so far, a work mates to help diagnose an failed bearing and this one basically drove like a boat and wants 4 new bags

And I've driven this one
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classi...romSavedAds=true&advertising-location=at_cars

this one drives beautifully, everything works ( missing drivers seat switch though but still works ) but sill covers want whipping off as its started to go on the little patch you can see in gap between covers where the factory track pins sit in the chassis but not bad as some and not crusty yet and I dont know the history yet as dealer was shutting up for the night so need to speak to him about it to find out as he didnt know off top of his head if belts had been done, it did have a new air tank though underneath side sill so thats one bonus

well bloke on the forum has just mailed to say his compressor has packed up and booked it in on thursday so thats ones off the market for the time being

Brilliant day.
In my infinite wisdom decided since the fuel light was on was to fetch a couple jerrycans and to take my was brand new fuel pump out my old fuel tank.
Fitted it to my one no problem.
Fired up on my way home from workshop 4 miles home.
I made 3 miles forgot to put the cans of fuel in got a lift back upto workshop left my keys in the landy,
So back up again and back to landy and I had left my lights on.
Lights off fuel in fuel pump prime mode crank and you guessed it battery dead no jumpleads to hand. Another trip for them and then it went into needing the eka,
Yes iv got that at home. So misson on again.
All done and fine but that was a long hour of messing about.
I should have just stayed in bed

Today's attack. Trailer to finish up n take back.
Then electric front windows have a funny live fused live wire on fuse 34. To make the windows live. It works but not ideal.
Then swap interior lights 2nd and 3rd row of seats then attack why they dont light up with door opening or ignition off.
Oh and the most important part. Fix my blooming heated seat.

went to have second viewing of the 2007 SE disco i drove the other day to find it had been sold an hour beroe I got there  but every cloud has a silver lining got to have good poke round the FL2 HSE he has on forecourt and went over it with fine tooth comb, very nice and managed to fit my sons pram in the boot but no room for the dog unless he goes on an extreme diet so it doesn't look good for the freelander idea unless I can't find a nice disco

New watts link, arms and bushes arrived today (Groves Engineering) so planning to fit those this weekend if this bloody rain stops. Hopefully it'll put an end to the rear suspension issues!!
Then to fix the rear window heater cabling....
