I haven’t yet. But if I need to open the hatch I will for better room.
There is one each side and although you have to take the wheel off it makes all this far easier and you can see possible rubs and chafing that you may not be able to see from on top or below. Did mine after my powersteering feed pipe from reservoir leaked due to chafing. Was shocked how many I found. Old garden hose and cable ties was what I used but often it was a case of putting pipes back in the clips that they should have been in! Best of luck!:):):)
 
finally got round to de-cating the Disco2 ... managed to get the cross member off, but 6 out of the 8 bolts snapped clean off... But, removed the cat pipe, and fitted the new one, plus 4 new rubber mounts. Did notice that the gearbox was soaked in oil. Im thinking the rear camshaft seal is leaking, but am going to clean it all down, and degrease, so I can see where its coming from...

Now, the crossmember..... I have some stainless allen bolts and serrated washers, so I tapped out the two clean holes, so I can utilise the existing captive nuts, which leaves me with 6 problem "EX" bolt remains.... Tried smacking off the nuts with a cold chisel, and lump hammer, but they wont budge, and theres not much room to swing a dead cat anyway... Will try a left handed drill bit but they are soddin rusted in so much the drill will snap before the threads loose off....
 
Ordered a few parts:-

Air suspension valve reservoir ( one near the compressor )
Air suspension compressor bracket
Air compressor fitting kit ( new Hitachi compressor going in next month and air tank )
Two front wheel bearings, mine have lasted 85k miles I suspect they are original to the vehicle
8 front wheel bearing bolts
Pirelli Scorpion 255 60 18 ( for the spare )
18" 5 spoke alloy ( for the spare )

Mrs is fuming ha ha
 
I took the Disco out to a job yesterday, and left the Nanocon running to see if I could resolve some issues. Found that the turbo boost was only 185kpa max. So shortened the rod and got a max reading of 230kpa, and this have given the TD5 a power lift. Couldnt believe it was so far out...
 
Removed the stock Bosch 0280155787 V8 injectors for reconditioned Bosch 0280155705 injectors on the Thor engine.

Ebay messaged me and said I had a £10 gift voucher to spend, and I got a £12 refund off an item that didnt arrive... So I bought myself one of those £24 steering ball joint removal sets...

Also bought a metre of 5mm ID, 9mm OD rubber tube as well. Going to have a go at the turbo modulator bypass, to see if it makes any difference to my sub 2000rpm power.
 
Ball joint remover kit arrived today... Bigger than I expected. Just need to get the kit together to replace the joints, and seals ad the same time. Think Im going to replace the shocks as well...
 
Renewed the insurance. Adrian Flux sent me a renewal quote for £440. Quick Meerkat search found cheapest quote was LV at £303. To be fair, Flux matched the price, and took off the fee...

They are good, but you need to do some homework and make calls before you renew.
