Booked it in for it's first MOT under my ownership. 4pm tomorrow.
Bearing in mind my MOT man freely admitted to seeing his purpose in life was to rid the world of all Disco 1s, i'm hoping he'll gaze lovingly upon my '02 Disco 2! Or at least restrict his banging to the propa DOT approved hammer and not the 2lb brick hammer he used to use on me other motor...

Just a suggestion, but why continue to use him if this is his attitude?

Have to do for now. and anyone wanting a sorted D3, get in touch

I've been using him for about eight years. He's strict and i like a challenge. Last year my Disco 1 not only passed, but did so without any advisories. His face was a picture!
He reckoned he was probably going to get a visit from the ministry when they saw a Disco 1 had passed with no advisories!

Went to Guy Salmon Land Rover Knutsford who found the correct missing wheel nut key for the D3

£10 bargain!

Bought one for the Mrs Peugeot a few years back cost around £70

Fixed back door. The handle was stuck. Fixed the rear windscreen wiper (I hit it with a hammer, gently).
My local LR guy nanocommed my SLS remote and fixed my RF module, so now my key fob works. He is also doing something with the left side track rod end.

Just fitted my GROM bluetooth module. Works great, highly recommended if you have the standard Alpine 1.5 din cassette deck with CD changer. You do lose your CD changer though, but who listens to CDs in 2020?

Had the tracking done properly and then decided to tinker, so....
Changed the engine oil & filters, replaced fuel filter, changed oil in diffs and replaced plugs with some decent ones!
Replaced air filter and fitted new shocks on the rear to cope with the lift. All ready for the mot next week

time for a cuppa now!

My disco 1 now has a split charge system. Cold beer when we're on this summer's road trip. Pyrenees or east Europe.

Replaced the front nearside bearing hub, and diff shaft seal. Cleared the ABS fault and another thing knocked off the list of things for the MOT man. Took the front bumper moulding off to replace the fog lights, and headlamp washer pump... connector off the pump to the feed tubing broke as it was brittle... Trip to Cradocks in the morning to get a new one..

If weather stays dry, going to replace the rear brake callipers, hoses and discs then adjust the handbrake...

Blown turbo..

took all of 12mins to remove, all bolts came out..

Not going to pour money into it yet..

Looking into getting the P38 on the road.

Dun a bit 'o towin'
First heavy(ish) thing I have towed with the D2 (my old catamaran was very light), what a great towing vehicle they are. Utterly drama free. :)

Replaced the rear n/s brake disc, calliper and calliper carrier, plus hose. O/S to do tomorrow morning.

Hose clip for headlight washer pump arrives tomorrow from Landrover. Damn tubing is hard and inflexible. Broke the non-return T valve removing the tube... grrr...

Now, the clip off the pump is £4 from LR. The non return valve is £8.50 from LR, but if you add 8 inches of rubber hose, and a LR bag, it goes up to £80.

Anyone know the size of the headlamp washer hose off hand... the battery in my electronic callipers has gone...
