I do wonder how hot that seal can get though when the pump runs in this weather. I could possibly tig some coolant pipes round the aluminium pump liner and maybe use the windscreen washer reservoir with a little punp to trickle fluid round but that seems over the top for something that would probably make no difference!

Sitting in a traffic jam in 42C pre Covid, I had no trouble. the pump should not run very often.
Just because it hasn't dropped does not mean there is no leak in the storage side or diaphragm valve for example.

That's true but the pressure guage is stable too.

Probably maintenance required. Not changed the dryer in a long while.
 
Could also be something else, for example the cut off for the compressor is 150psi my old compressor's piston ring was worn and as such it would stall at 110psi and take an absolute age to get to the 150 **** eye cut off and as such it used to get very toasty toasty even slight suspension adjustments would have the compressor on for minutes at a time. ;)

Trustee you must be.;):D Remember delivering to Winston green prison in Birmingham. The wagon was too big to fit in to old Victorian gateway so I had to back up to the open gates and the trustees unloaded the wagon by hand we were surrounded by prison guards and the law,all for their breakfast cereal..:Duve never laughed so much as the old lags wives turned up ,as they became aware that their men were outside the walls,the conversa tion fronmthe trustees in the wagon was an eye opener,they were Making dates with the other inmates wives when they got out in a week or so.

Had a run out and I think one of the front wheel bearings has started to run dry ,the run out was to see a mates Disco 3 TdV6HSE which he wants to sell, don't know what it's worth FSH perhaps @gstuart can advise it's on a 06 plate and very tidy. Bit put off because of the engine and I can't find any gearbox maintenance history but I've just got back and have hit the gjound running .;):D15000 miles,12 months Mot with #1000 just spent on the advisories

Started on mot prep, steering ujs bulkhead too rack had a heap of play and have done for a while,
Bonnet cable from handle too first catch so it can actually be opened hasnt bothered me for like 3 months but it needed done,

My MAF stopped working again this morning. Guess cleaning it just bought me a small amount of time. Which is a shame. I was enjoying fuel going a lot further.

Took the pump apart this evening. A bit odd. There were slivers of metal om there but no sign of where they came from. Looked a bit like slivers of reed valve but they were fine. Either way the particles had got into the cylinder and wrecked the seal. Bit of a mystery.
