:)
Probably because it weeped after it was installed. :)
Probably, the old gasket looked and felt almost bituminous.
The new one that came with the pump didn't have the little blue line of gasket sealant, i thought they all had that. I was going to put my own on, but it had gone off in the tube :(

Today she went in for an MOT.
PASS, no advisories and a comment that the emissions were "Spot-on" and that she drives like a dream.
It may help to have a Brother In Law as a tester; but when pressed he said "There's nothing on it I would see fit to write up as even an "advisory" right now. The closest thing to an advisory is the rear box, as I can see that it will be leaking before long."
So, as its 20+ years old and has done a massive 17,123 miles I am pretty pleased. :D

Threatened it some more and it appears to have dried up. Been for a drive and no leaks!
Next job, figure out why the exhaust is still so loud, no leaks on any joints, new box. Sounds like it's got a big blow somewhere when you're accelerating

Decided I have a 'Friday Afternoon' truck. (Ask yer dad, one that was built on a Friday afternoon before everyone knocked off, so last ones thrown together before clocking off for the weekend..). Thought I would tackle the bad paint above the windscreen.

Bugger me..! I've seen more paint on a Datsun Sunny. The more I sanded, the more came off..In Pieces..!!! The base coat was just coming away from the primer. So had to go gentle and try and keep something on. Managed to finish and spray it and not looking too bad, just need to polish it off when the clear coat hardens.

Bleeding hell 2012 sdv6 thats a bit posh for here, friend of mine got same engine in his disco sport does over 40 mpg on a run. And if thats your post code as location best take it off before somebody thinks about calling round, back of beyond is near enough.

Checked landy was all tucked up for the evening and noticed a coolant wee at the back of the engine
If it's not one thing, it's another!! Heater hoses are dry so that only leaves the valley gasket :'( i can't cope with doing that one again!!!!!
