Wishing you well for your upcoming treatments.

Fitted some LED reversing lamp bulbs. Managed to get some with full all round LED’s that actually improves night vision over the blazing red brake lamps. Look decent in the daytime too.

I am from Rosenheim, Klepper's home home town. So any folding kayak will have to be a Klepper! :)
We picked up the one on the pictures two years ago for 300 bucks, served well since that. Now the skin is kind of shot, still holds water but some of the keel strips and other stuff is delaminated. And the rubber coat is too old to vulcanise anything back on. Plus the cloth top is torn due to use and age. It will probably be replaced by a never one. Not brand new, those are too expensive. But there are some reasonably priced ones for 1 to 2k on eBay in Germany.

Have to agree, they are nice pieces of kit. Light for what they are, durable, easy to set up and dismantle, don't take up to much space.

Hi, I’m keen to know how you get on with the front screen as mine is a bit battle scared thanks to a previous muppet who couldn’t afford a pair of blades.
Cheers Tricky

Actually managed to get time to do the front screen today, and as Tricky had an interest I took loads of photo's, so hard luck to anyone else that gets bored.
This was the kit I used, cheapo stuff from the land of the virus. A velcro backing disk for the drill, 5 medium sanding pads, 5 fine pads, 2 fibre pads, a bottle of polishing paste and a water spray bottle.

Before I started I thought it would be a good idea to use tape on the inside of the screen to limit the area I was working on, it would have been a really good idea to clean the inside as well, but like a plank I didn't think it all through properly.

Screen given the good news with the medium grit pad.

Half screen finished with fine grit pad. To be honest if I was doing this again I would try and find a kit with a more aggresive first stage, not able to shift all marks.

First half of screen after initial polishing with mop and paste.

First half of screen finished off after initial polishing of second half, found that the polishing was most effective when just moist, rather than wet or dry, if you see what I mean.

Overall quite happy with final finish, not perfect but much better than before. Total time spent actually with the drill, 4 hours, and for me it were hard work. Every now and then I felt it wise to let the screen cool down, and it really is important to clean all residue off the screen before starting the next step. The odd beer break was written into my contract before I started as well.

Hi Frog Hopper,
Just got time to look at your post, looks like Garfield was impressed..!! Looks like it’s worth a go just to reduce the sun glare from the wiper scratches. If it goes to rats I’ll have to replace the screen I am going to have to replace anyway. Great pics and guide so off to the DIY store for supplies (I already have the Black & Decker). Hopefully, I’ll be able to post a successful job soon.
Cheers Tricky
