I understood it was 60K driven hard, 100K driven easy, or 10 years. Of course I have no idea how it was driven in the earlier years. Would like to find a proper sevice schedule, but hope I get one of those if I buy the new motor.

Thanks for the how to, seems easy enough.

Cheers

Aye it ain't too difficult. ;)

Most ZF's I service are around 100k.

Assuming it's led an easy life i see no reason why not to stretch to 100k

Manufacturers list "sealed for life" which is obvs Bull

BMW over the phone told me every 60-100k depending, that was an M5 so we did it at 60k lol knowing it had a hard life!! ;)

Today, I just looked at Photos, but tomorrow I willl go look and take for a test drive.

2011 TDV8 60K miles, FSH.

May well become a RR owner by Saturday, sadly it would mean the D2 having to be shot!

Cheers

The 8 speed box is a delight to use and drive.
Our guys said gearbox was On the service (5 years change all oils) ours was done 3 years ago, we are on about 80k now.
The reason I remember that service was we had to take it back because they didn’t have all the oils to change all.

Hope you like it:) No I know you will like it:D

That’s weird? How come you can fill
It in first place without it coming out??

Difficult to fill in a sense most of the filling is done with the engine running..

If you take the fill plug out when the engine is off and the gearbox pump isn't working all the fluid from the cooler will drain back and pish out the filler hole..

Level has to be checked at 45c with the box in neutral.

Swapped around NRVs with no success in fixing my problem.. Also I sprayed her down with bubbles..No apparent leaks..But she still leaks..Fact.

Calibrated height sensors..

Pretty much nothing got done today..

Had any exhaust blows? Might be line to reservoir?

For leaks I put her on extended height then pull the delay timer and see which corner drops overnight.

How can you calibrate the height sensors with an air leak?

I remember a while back one of you fabulous people turned off the self adjusting mirrors on the P38 (that never reset!!) . Can you please share your boundless knowledge so I can stop cringing every time she's put in reverse?

I have discovered a very slight low pressure exhaust leak while compressor is running. So I guess I will have to stretch the little diaphragm spring a bit(3-5mm maybe?).
I also have the delay timer mod so the heights should not change overnight. However in the morning she is about an inch down in the rears and a couple inches high in the front.

The leak is very slow. But there is in fact a leak. I cannot find the source and I gotta say it is frustrating. New oem bags, oem sensors, freshly rebuilt compressor, and valve block. No visible external leaks... In the morning she rises to her set height accordingly and has no problems during the day. But as I understand it.. There shouldnt be more than a 25mm drop in suspension in 24 hours. I definitely have more than that in just 12 hours. Besides fitting a new NRV and diaphragm..any ideas for further testing?

Either pull the EAS relay under the passenger seat or leave a door ajar and see if it still drops. The EAS self levels about every 6 hours so one corner leaking would drop the whole car. I have a P38 on Arnott Gen 2's, it does not drop over more than a week, my other P38 on new Dunlop airbags is on the bump stops after a week. The Dunlop bags do not seal in the same way as the Arnotts so I assume they have small leaks.
Small leaks where the pipes enter on the rear bags are not uncommon either.

Taken from the owners manual.

To disable the dip function:
Turn the starter switch to position ’I’ or ’II’ (do not start the engine) and select reverse gear.
Press and hold the seat MEMORY STORE switch for 2 seconds and the message centre displays ’MIRROR DIP OFF’ and a tone sounds.
To restore the dip function:
Turn the starter switch to position ’I’ or ’II’ (do not start the engine), and select reverse gear.
Press and hold the MEMORY STORE switch for 2 seconds and the message centre briefly displays the message ’MIRROR DIP ON’ (returning mirrors to, either the factory or your own pre-set positions).

Hope that’s sorts you.:)

Thanks for the great info Datatek! Also its great to know that the Dunlops might possibly leak small amounts even when new.

You may be right,I might be chasing rainbows.. The EAS has really been working great besides some minor airloss overnight..I also read in another reply of yours in a different thread that sometimes valve block rebuilds may take a little while to settle down. I am really hoping mine settles down..haha thanks again

DO NOT stretch spring. You need a new diaphragm valve. Diaphragm valve is sealed by air pressure below it when compressor is running. Spring is just there to seal out moist ambient air by maintaining a positive pressure in fill/exhaust gallery.

Nice, when I went to replace it recently I convinced myself NOT to mess with it;I am glad I did. Have people been having problems with the aftermarket diaphragms? I just noticed there is a kit for an original Dunlop refurb kit STC1803 with the bolts and all. Is it possible that this is the only one that works properly?

Thanks again for all the quick replies and help!
