I managed to make my front left wiring situation much worse. Saw what I though was a break in the wire, so I cut it to patch it. I then realised that the whole left front went out (yes I was working hot). Turns out what looks like the earth for the LH inboard, served the whole cluster. Which in itself doesn't make sense. As I was of the understanding P38 used negative switching for bulbs.

Then a thought occured, well several. Really. 1, I could setup a temporary across vehicle earth to the RH inboard so when I can get though the MoT for now. It'll still say light fault, but the light will work which is fine. But since I am having what I can only assume is a loom issue on the LH side of the vehicle, what are the odds that that is also the reason for my ABS fault? I can the best test would be to switch the ABS sensors left to right with a diag on and see if the fault remains LHF wheel station... ahh, damn aging Land Rovers.

Wife assistance was invaluable.]

Usually it is the bulb holder wiring itself.

Got made redundant without any payout. Honey will probably be going up for sale :(
Sad news, sorry to hear that, its affecting everyone, one way or another, on the airport, I always thought it was the safest job going, and its dead, empty warehouses, they are shutting them down, freight is screwed

Replaced the replacement under bonnet lights I had fitted a couple of years ago, never really happy with the amount of light produced, still difficult to see the dipstick for example.
So bought a pair of kit car type side lights big enough to fit led festoon bulbs with a decent amount of output.
These are the bits.

To avoid the tracking going to the dogs, got the rod to the same length as the old one,

In my case it was 54 inches exactly

As you do I took her to work to get an alignment, after a 30min Laser therapy I took her for a good drive to see if there was any improvement, or a new problem!

I'm happy to say it tracks straight and true,

However with every good there must be a bad

On my way home a pheasant decided to cross the road, however because they haven't got a brain it went into mid flight right infront on my car!
The result was it hitting the corner of the bonnet and propelling at great velocity into my mirror, which in turn caused the glass to fly out!

Not only that the bird came in my open window and missing my head by at most 2 CM and landed in the boot

What a fiasco

So i pulled over and got the bird out, was tempted to keep it for sunday but eh

My mirror glass was found in a grass verge and put back in, only downside being it cracked!

All done!

I've had a crack and missed fog blank in my front bumper for years. Had one take out the front right headlight. RRs it turns out, aren't as tough as Ford Escorts.

put on charge for an hour after battery went flat, I only measured 13.1v across the battery!! Think the alternator is on its way out :( Think I can fit a new regulator?

What makes it worse is I work in a bank. Even the financial services are doomed....

If you charge it up off the car does it hold charge?

Regulator worth a try if it comes with new brushes.14.5V set point would be good.

Is yours GEMS? I think you can upgrade to the later bigger one.
