Nope, no rubber coating or peeling of any kind, on any of my dash panels. Which is why I was asking.:)
It was used a lot in Renault in the mid 2000's as well. A tactile style thing but not very hard wearing. The model L322 I mentioned has the very same thing. I'll find out some more next time I see the car come in for some work. thinking-face_1f914.png

Maybe it was something a previous owner added? Or maybe it depend which trim the vehicle is?
Which dash panels did you see it on? It's a BBBIIIIIIGGGGGG dash :D

Replaced the duff airbag. Checked shocks at full stretch: fronts 21" and rears 19" so right way round. We'll see how she's sitting in the morning.

HI Mark, the rubber coating is a soft feel covering for the various "shiny black plastic" parts to make them look more like a £70k car should look. If you take a look at the picture above, you will see where I had to scrape it away on the steering wheel spokes when I fitted a new leather cover just to make it look cleaner. Strangely though the areas that showed virtually no wear were the door window switches and around the ignition switch. The bottom line is Land Rover wanted a satin soft finish but got an inconsistent self recovering rubber that was bonded to smooth finish plastic parts. My advice, if it looks good leave it, if it starts to peel just scrape it off or pay for aftermarket cover parts like piano black.
Regards Tricky.

P38 2.5 sump plug stc 2034.

I want to get a magnetic one but don’t know the size. Anybody know - M12 x 1.5?
Why aren’t these magnetic to begin with?

For oil sump? Isn't it steel? Just stick a magnet on it!

Gearbox plug has magnet. You can get a sump plug repair kit fairly cheaply.

I don't f*cking believe it. Just been put, arse on the floor. Started up, no movement, nothing but hissing from the rear. Damned if I am going under it now but how the f*ck can it have gone again?

It occurs to me the rear shock can extend to 19" but the Arnott gen 2 spring is 16" long when fully extended? I wonder how long the Dunlop bag is at full stretch?

EDIT. Both the Dunlop and Arnott bags are 16" at full stretch. In fact, if anything the Arnott is slightly longer when viewed side by side.

Ive a client with a 2006 L322 vogue with a rubber like paint coating on the dash panels and it's peeled/scratched off in areas. I don't know if it's all models. Do you have this finish in your @gold rover ?

Mine has gone a bit ropey in places as well, deffo steering wheel. Think mine needs replacement steering wheel anyway as it doesn't heat up when I press the button.
