[, as a dash panel HI Mark, the rubber coating is a soft feel covering for the various "shiny black plastic" parts to make them look more like a £70k car should look. If you take a look at the picture above, you will see where I had to scrape it away on the steering wheel spokes when I fitted a new leather cover just to make it look cleaner. Strangely though the areas that showed virtually no wear were the door window switches and around the ignition switch. The bottom line is Land Rover wanted a satin soft finish but got an inconsistent self recovering rubber that was bonded to smooth finish plastic parts. My advice, if it looks good leave it, if it starts to peel just scrape it off or pay for aftermarket cover parts like piano black.
Regards Tricky.
Mine has gone a bit ropey in places as well, deffo steering wheel. Think mine needs replacement steering wheel anyway as it doesn't heat up when I press the button.

Now I'm really confused 1: because I wouldn't have classed steering wheel, as a dash panel, and, 2: because the bits mentioned don't 'feel', rubbery, to me. I wouldn't say plastic, but closer to plastic than rubber. With exception of steering wheel, which feels 'leatherish'.
I wonder if that's why @holidaychicken got a rash. I could've sworn that suit was leather ;)

You won’t know why until you investigate the bag. Somethings not right go straight away again, same one I bet?

Now you understand why I binned mine ;)

Think so. Will find out when I have time to get underneath. Too annoyed to sleep now but sounds like it is raining again.

Good news everyone... Greta Thunberg is coming to join the forum, she loves Range Rovers...

Thanks @Tricky of York , thought I was going mad there for a spell!!:D

4.4 TDV8 or 5.0 V8 SUPERCHARGED I wont be doing a lot of mileage

Stay away from the oil burner, especially where you are. Government war on diesel just starting and that diesel chews through turbos if it is the one I think. Treat yourself to the v8 as long as it is the Jag engine.

I don't f*cking believe it. Just been put, arse on the floor. Started up, no movement, nothing but hissing from the rear. Damned if I am going under it now but how the f*ck can it have gone again?

It occurs to me the rear shock can extend to 19" but the Arnott gen 2 spring is 17" long when fully extended? I wonder how long the Dunlop bag is at full stretch?

After I fitted the bag I took it for a test drive. Now, being a little bit anal I decided to take a trace with the Nanocom. Just been back through that trace and the rear bags performed flawlessly throughout the test drive. Therefore any f*ck-up happened while the car was parked. That's twice now. Frankly I am ready to f*ck Arnott off and go back to Dunlop. Dunlop may perish after 7 years but at least I can park it up longer than 7 hours without a bag popping.

The Arnott's have been on mine for getting on for 9 years without problems and they still look like new:D

Mine are fine as well, something isn't right with your set up, or the bags

Yes, seeing yours was what swayed me but the rubber on these looks different and I think the connector is different too. Plus, did yours have aluminium caps? These are plastic. I think some penny-pinching might have occurred?

All the Arnotts have plastic end caps.
You have too much damper travel or there is too much pressure in the system, enough to blow the bag.

Front dampers have 21" of travel. Rear damper has 19" of travel. No problem with the old Dunlop bags. Why would Arnotts blow and Dunlop not?

Rang them @Dopey but no-one picked up. I'm going to go out and have a play before it gets dark. All seems very odd.
