The glow plug relay is switched on and off by the engine ECU as required subject to temp readings from the engine temp sensor the engine ECU also switches the glow lamp on and off. The glow relay does not feed anything other than the glow plugs and the lift pump from plug 6 when operational.
That is true on a P38, but not I think on a VM

Eeerrrrrr, thanks for that, but it's a 2.4 VM of 1988 vintage.
 
Finished this job yesterday, two weeks ago got Old Forge Garage in Lincoln to enable park heating on my l322 diesel so on and off this week been fitting a Velleman vm130 wireless remote to make it remote switch on (yes I know lazy) also fitted the second battery in the boot so now while I`m sat in the kitchen putting my boots on I can press a button and the heater starts to get the chill off (even more lazy) !

Almost finished the service I started last week on my new to me l322, just the pollen filter to go. Service indicator said 25k overdue and I think it was probably right.
 
Changed no 6 injector for a new one (refurbed). Had a lumpy tickover since my problem ( see what a pratt). sounds much better and smoother. hope that is the easiest fix since wiper blade change.
 
So, as it had stopped raining here for a day, thought I would do the heater matrix seals. Shouldn't take too long, read all the descriptions and write ups.. how hard can it be, as long as I don't round off the screen.(but then only a #### would do that).
SIX HOURS LATER.!!!!!! Every weapon in the arsenal thrown at it and the cow still wouldn't turn.. so dash out.. and had to drill and retap the bracket hole, as the screw had welded itself in and no amount of chemistry was getting it out.
Gut full, I think is the phrase..

Put my project P38 in the barn for it's pre MOT checks. Not pleased to find the underside covered in oil from a power steering hose leaking at the reservoir. Needs a decent Jubilee clip instead of the squeeze clip which is not holding it.
Small job but washing all the oil off is not going to be fun, it's got to be done as otherwise it will be a fail.:(
 
Wasted a whole day with a stupid issue with the suspension...
Thankfully a few very good members have helped no end and one in particular being very patient with the bloody issue...
And.... A saviour may have arisen!!!:cool:
