Some Ford's also have it I believe. I wonder which cretin thought that was a good idea?
The 1.0 eco boost and the 1.0 mehv?? are two examples where they dropped the wet belt for a chain but kept a wet belt for the oil pump on the latter

Last ten years? I'm not interested in anything built after 2000.I'd rather a belt than a chain compared to the last ten years of poor efforts in engines

I'd have to do some research but, one reason is, after 2000 the tax bands get more expensive and, as I'm a fan of V8s it would be cheaper.
The only reason for myself is the drop in build quality accross the board and the hype in emission control systems equally built with quality in mind

I'd be amazed if you didn't have to code the BCM to the car.
SDD will replace the BCM, but from what I've read can't update the VIN, but theres companies around who can do a full clone.. i might have to do that, its not hugely expensive

Took the wheel off this evening and undid the caliper. Didn't look too bad but pads were worn through.
Swapped pads for some old ones cadged off MrGorsky. Strangely I had new front ones in stock but no rear ones; clearly I was planning on looking at the brakes last summer and never got around to it. Or maybe did but front didn't need doing.
Wirebrushed everything and then noticed the bottom slide that although the bottom slide pin went in easily it wasn't as bouncy as the top one and didn't bounce out as much. Swapped it for an old one I had kept that felt better (rubber not so hard) and reassembled everything. Took it for a test drive and all fine.
Not sure if they were worn through and it was binding because past its usual range of motion or because slide pin was slightly stiff. Bit of a mystery.
Better order more parts for the weekend...
