I doubt they put excess fixings on. Heat cycles might warp it over time and then you're looking at a new manifold. Sooner rather than later you're going to have to tackle it. Can you get at it with the wheel-arch liner removed?
Me? No, I have barely time working on it. She's off getting the ignition timing sorted at a garage anyway over the winter, and going by how bad the manifolds look, I'd might just add that to the bill.

I was, again, ready to sell it. Boe there are two trips on the horizon, Tunesia and Iceland, potentially starting with Tunesia next November. So she got a new purpose for at least another two years. Gives me time to sort out the interior, the paint job budget will go to the engine.
