On the P38, the design life is 8 years 80K miles, don't know how long they are supposed to last on the L322 but 130K miles seems to be pushing it.A couple of weekends ago was invited to join for some localish green laneing. All was well until, after rougher parts, on a flat straight heard the dreaded hissing noise of air escaping... Yup, front right air bag punctured. Luckily, only had to cross 200ish meters to the main road on flat surface.
Was lucky with the recovery service, the chap just started his shift at the nearby village, so was with me within an hour. Garage had it up and running in one day.
The airbag seems to be original, so I reckon not bad for 130k miles.
So, looking at options, once an airbag pops, there is nothing one can do... Was very lucky for it go when it did.

They are, hence I try to run chunky tyres, they tend to do most of the work anyway.Replaced a front pair earlier this year on a 2011 car about that number but in KL.
Rears will be replaced in a month or 2.
But our roads are pretty brutally sometimes .
