Or if it thinks the battery is to low, anyway.

think some say just have a battery charger on it, pretty sure BBS and IIDGap say that. I "had " a Noco, Nico? (name) charger that had a 13v constant output maybe that would do as it would be stable;)

The charger? I doubt many chargers draw more than 13A as that tends to be the most current the fuse in most domestic plugs can handle.
No domestic use charger draws more than 13 amps from the 240 volt supply and some will provide 70 amps at 12 volts, expensive though.

Mine seems to go up to 16A, although I cannot say I have ever set it above 8A.
