Guess what, back in the shop for the lower ball joint replaced and a rear PDC sensor, hopefully this will be the last for awhile, says he with hand on heart

I put some diesel in it ,first time for ages, thought I had a hole in the tank.the last time I put fuel in a car was in the Canaries, topped the hire car to full with €30 at 1.61 a ltd.went to pay handed in €50 and the girl gave me €25 change,I pointed out the mistake in case it came out of her wages. She thanked me but gave me a leaflet showing me that over 20ltrs qualified for a discount.happy days.:D:D

Hi all,

Just to butt in and in not in order backlog since purchasing the vehicle a few months ago:
  • garage review
  • change of bonnet and boot strats
  • changes of alloys (turned out to be an adventure in itself :/)
  • wax and inside deep clean
  • LPG servicing
  • a few green laning trips (plenty of scratches to serve as proof :/)
  • two separate trips re non-working rear sensors to the garage - still not fixed, not going back to that garage again...
  • trip to south of Wales with a little bit of green laning
  • loads of fueling up
  • a few trips for work
  • second attempt at paperwork with the beloved DVLA
  • finding solution to music AUX issue
  • fixing sun visors
  • a number of skip runs & transportation of bulky items
Cheers.
Depending where you are in Oxfordshire, if not too far I know a good Land Rover garage in Warwickshire that would almost certainly sort your persistent fault out. Other than me, I don't trust anywhere else to do the work on mine now!

Replaced more spill off pipe. One of them had split about 20mm soaking injector 4 in fuel and dumping half the tank on the floor. Still waiting on the gates stuff to arrive, so just going to monitor them more often and replace as soon as evidence of leaks (got miles of rhino braided crap). 16mpg hurts in this economy. Hopefully the replaced pipes (did everything just to be safe) will put things back into the 20s.

You won’t be disappointed spending on the gates stuff.

Took her out in the rain to wash off. £25 of fuel went up 1/4, less by time I got back.
Somehow I’m getting oil pushed through the fairly tight seal of the oil filler cap. There’s a substantial trickle over the cam cover going down to the FIP. What could be blocked up to cause pressure in there like that can’t be just splattering about  is there a breather somewhere I don’t know about, the iacv should be fairly clean

Is the depression control valve clear Jack? If it is I think you will have to remove the cam cover and clean the wire mesh fitted to it,lots of torque screws and a very mucky job.if the wire screen is blocked then pressure will build up.good luck.

As above ^^^^^^^ Or if the oil separator is external, that could be blocked, or the pipes may not be sealing well.

Much needed rain all day, so spent time in the workshop stripping a spare HEVAC, Repaired broken temperature rocker button pivots.

Mesh filter in the cam cover.
Oil separator. ( I think I remember it's not a serviceable item, wash through with petrol is about as much as you can do. There some sort of springy/ valvey thing inside that gets old)
Valve seals leaking combustion pressure through.?

Nothing. Left her at home, whilst dog and I walked to farm. All these short hops upset her, and leaving the engine running upsets me. Trying to decide if it's cheaper to change battery every few months , than use up fuel, to keep battery happy. At over £240 a tank, beginning to look like battery sacrifice is on cards.

You could buy a cheap battery maintainer if you have somewhere to connect it close to where you park her up, they've really come down in price in recent years.

Stick a solar panel in the rear window.
