Very common to snap the studs I snapped all mine off and replaced them with nuts/bolts, sometimes you can be lucky and they come off or you wind the stud out with the nut..Think I'm going to have to take the exhaust manifolds off to find the leak not sure they will split from the exhaust without tears though. One side is studs, the other looks like it's been drilled out and nuts and bolts of thru
Why don't they use brass nuts anymore?
Bcoz they've all been frozen off monkeys....Think I'm going to have to take the exhaust manifolds off to find the leak not sure they will split from the exhaust without tears though. One side is studs, the other looks like it's been drilled out and nuts and bolts of thru

Found a kitReplacing radius arm bushes, do you really need a 'speshul tool' or can you press them on on a vice?
Failing that, a suitable washer or other suitably think bit of metal with a useful hole in the middle?
Heard about someone doing that once after a major rebuild. Went to turn the key and nothing. Stripped loads of bits down again, turned left, nothing. Then wife comes in to the garage to see what the fuse is about and sees is still in gearJumped in the old girl this afternoon to go fetch the wife from her dads. Turn key glow light goes off turn key, nothing all dash lights that should be were on but no crank to start. Turned off and tried again, still nothing THEN the brain fog cleared and I looked down at my left hand holding gear lever in drive position, back to park and fires up first turn. Is it old age or am I just going mad. Ah well could have been worse

It is possible to replace them without the speshul tool but it's a pain.the bushes don't have a metal sleeve it's hard plastic and a little bigger than the hole diameter so needs constricting while pressing in,I used jubilee clips and plenty of lubricant.the tool allows you to press the bush through a taper into the hole.good luck.think I soaked them in hot water first.Replacing radius arm bushes, do you really need a 'speshul tool' or can you press them on on a vice?

Any particular reason? Will i have to cut them off?Dont forget you will probably need new nuts and bolts, i was rather glad the lot i picked up had all new nuts and bolts
