now engine is black..as is rocker covers.but not for long..

i recon rocker covers should go same as car, ie red base ,gold flaked with red candy over then laquered...same with inlent manifold and supercharger manifold..

supercharger to go black?

open to suggestions here...THOUGH block is staying black!





 
ahhh..helpfull...it took 4 goes to get car colour right,dont want to do same with engine..
 
Same as the body, mabie red heads with black striping on the upraised areas on the rockers ect or something similar
 
its just got more complicated..as mounted sc on engine..(well rested it there)

i now like silver, but will it go with red rocker covers??

looking at pics with my Mary's opion i have to paint rocker cover silver too..NO red.but prehaps with black inlay on rockers

cant,the ribs are recessed not proud...could have the sucken ribs black...

i know this is all rather pertantic, but its important..has to be just right or i will pull the engine out to get it right..i dont want to do that!!lol

begining to wish i had painted the whole thing siver..but i aint gonna even attempt that now, can you imagine keying up an entire engine !

ahh..i see what you mean now....but tooooooooooooo late..cos..

(black inlay stilll to go in "recessed ribs" on the rocker covers) paint is etch prime with 2k ally silver base over with 2k laquar over





had some left in da gun..soooo

NOW..i am thinking the whole engine in silver!!..but dont tell mary cos she said do it all silver to begin with!!opps

but keying the block up again..no...I wonder if etch prime willl key itself lol..

The contrast is quite good.

Is there any writing on the charger you could highlight with the body colour?
 
no..but there a place on rocker covers for a badge..that may be inlayed with body colour..ie 4.6 in red.

also think starter,engine mounts,alternator,water pump and pulleys should go silver too..thats to break up the black..

like my engine stand??lol..and yes it is stable and does work!!

You could try a copper colour? There is a bike resto going on I've seen that uses that combination really well. I'll find a link to it?

What kind of blower is that?i have 3.5 supercharged as well its got wade blower,mounted on custom manifolds and massively modified heads,need to get it up running ,bought it in pieces,came out of a drag car tr7 I think,sure it was running around 8 psi,350 hp,
