I feel really bad about thinking John & Liz were kidding about the fire
Glad that the Disco soldiered on with no one hurt. John did you get to the bottom of what's fried?
Thanks to one and all for a grand day out: Zip and Sue for organising and planning. Thanks for the cakes and sweets ladies! Phil and Jean - great to meet you and the ANZAC biscuits were awesome
Everyone having a working CB (finally Phil!) made the day more fun! Zip - some of the gate descriptions were indeed quite shocking in their brevity and lack of important detail: I'm sure a quick Google would reveal a Pantone colour chart in order that the bits of hairy (or not) string can be readily identified by the correct, worldwide, standard colour system
Sue - I found the discussion about "detailing" horses before showing them quite interesting. I must tell my daughter.
Apart from a couple of 'fenders it was a Disco convoy
Not to detract from the Defenders though: Sue's Matty was making good use of the Fairy Dust power source, and Sarah's Dave was just .....well, Dave really ... beefy, macho, demented electrics.
Deadman's was fun in good visibility, but going up away from Scar House was tricky - managed to kiss the front axle - I'm sure the track's getting worse! The irony was it was a rock AFTER the bit where Sarah said maybe not drive up that. That being a step the Disco had negotiated before and she managed again no worries
Lewis did say bye bye on the CB, but it might have been out of range, he's looking forward to another trip.
Zip - hopefully all's well with a new pressure switch?
Sue - did you sort out what made Matty handle strange on the way home?
Pics to follow.
