Yep, was a good day, sorry the gate descriptions weren't up to the usual standard though....

They were variable, at times you made a real effort, others what can I say

John was getting most upset :D:D:D:D:D

The one at the first sheep pen was classic though :D:D

OMG I forgot the fire

We were waiting at the end of Stake for Zip to go down and check the level of the fords at Stalling. I was the only one who could still hear Zip on the CB. The rest of us were chatting about the fords and water splashes when John mentioned fire. This was assumed to be part of the water discussion so no one took much notice. Turned out Johns motor had a fire :eek::eek: smoke coming from under the dash.

He was not a bit happy that we didn't respond immediately, sorry John :p:p However he was a little calm in the circumstances

Perfect, might make visibility a bit difficult, but it will make you float if we hit any deep water :D

Or fly if he fills it with helium :D

Thats it take the ****,its just like been at home on here;)

There could be some very confused kids at Christmas....and some excited adults thinking santas bringing them a landy:D:D:D

Right photos...had a fab day yesterday and was a bit giddy having a working CB:D

Conversation highlights were types of hangers suitable for gate marking and M&S sandwiches:p

I feel really bad about thinking John & Liz were kidding about the fire  :( Glad that the Disco soldiered on with no one hurt. John did you get to the bottom of what's fried?

Thanks to one and all for a grand day out: Zip and Sue for organising and planning. Thanks for the cakes and sweets ladies! Phil and Jean - great to meet you and the ANZAC biscuits were awesome
Everyone having a working CB (finally Phil!) made the day more fun! Zip - some of the gate descriptions were indeed quite shocking in their brevity and lack of important detail: I'm sure a quick Google would reveal a Pantone colour chart in order that the bits of hairy (or not) string can be readily identified by the correct, worldwide, standard colour system ;) :D :D

Sue - I found the discussion about "detailing" horses before showing them quite interesting. I must tell my daughter.

Apart from a couple of 'fenders it was a Disco convoy :D Not to detract from the Defenders though: Sue's Matty was making good use of the Fairy Dust power source, and Sarah's Dave was just .....well, Dave really ... beefy, macho, demented electrics.

Deadman's was fun in good visibility, but going up away from Scar House was tricky - managed to kiss the front axle - I'm sure the track's getting worse! The irony was it was a rock AFTER the bit where Sarah said maybe not drive up that. That being a step the Disco had negotiated before and she managed again no worries

Lewis did say bye bye on the CB, but it might have been out of range, he's looking forward to another trip.:)

Zip - hopefully all's well with a new pressure switch?
Sue - did you sort out what made Matty handle strange on the way home?

Pics to follow.

Thanks for that diff...your comment about Dave really made me chuckle:D:D:D

And yes from now on if someone yells fire we must take it seriously

On my phone at the moment but out what made her handle badley. The trailing arm nut has come loose. Neil undid the little bit that was left with his fingers. Unfortunately what should have been a brief visit to the workshop is still going on. We have nearly got the head off the engine

nice pics good views but my ford focus could handle that lane or am I not seeing the best parts lol
You are correct in that assumption - Deadman's, then back up from Scar House, not to mention Stalling Busk fords = One dead and/or stuck Focus ;)

If you see the thread in the defender section you will see. It had got worse this morning so it's getting a new head gasket

good one :clap2::clap2::clap2:also the wife would kick my but if I tried as its her focus.
going to buy her a disco next time so I can have two to play with lol

Some of our choice photos of the day :)

Yeah, shame we had trouble with our CB all day - hopefully by the next trip we'll have one that doesn't decide to change channels all on it's own accord

Great pics :D

I'm home now after a really busy day taking the engine in bits. Learned lots but poor Matty is still on the ramps. New gaskets tomorrow and then she will be back together for the weekend hopefully.

Thanks Neil for finishing it or I would have been there all week. And Zip & Dean for helping and explaining what all the engine parts are where and what they do.
