The bizzare thing is, if I drive my 27 year old 90 (pre defender) with off road kit fitted, I get the landy wave. If I drive my 2004 disco XS.... I just get a confused look or ignored. Ill just continue waving regardless. Maybe its a location thing where you have to bring a few loose sheep back into the brotherhood of Landys.:praise:

I've never got a wave! Guess it's unlikely in my Discovery. Living in a rural area Land Rovers are a very common sight. Never got a wave in my old SIII either!

I wave at every green oval, except Range Rovers ( but I will to classics)

Disco and Freelander drivers seem not to have a clue, but that has been changing, older discos I think now are driven by people who have an interest in them as oppose to drive them for the sake of driving them,

Get plenty of waves in my modded D2 from other obvious offroaders and drivers of older vehicles. In my experience the newer and shinier the vehicle the less inclined the drivers seem to be to wave or reciprocate, regardless of mark.

Ditto... New Puma owners in London can be a bit snooty!

I've gathered a couple of regular wavees :) one drives a tdi disco like mine, one drives a defender 110 csw with all the kit and the other drives an older freelander. Still get ignored by most landy drivers, though.

For me it's a bit like the "mods and the rockers"

Get waves from all modded landys but the normos never wave!

I have had enough of this waving ****e! Only ones that wave are the series 2/3 drives a couple of old defenders which I rarely see round this way but these new defender drivers round my way seem to be stuck up the own rear ends! Just to see i wave loads at a bloke every morning in a 62 plate for about a month and not once as he waved back! Maybe its time for another wave and see if he responds lol

I was driving my defender up through Carisbrooke on the Isle of Wight this afternoon when I spotted a defender coming the other way. The woman driver was waving like mad and it was clear that she was over the moon when i waved back. :D:cool:

I was waved at for the first time today. Didn't have a clue who it was but they were driving a 110.

And I did wave back. Index finger only though:D

I think it must be catching:eek:

Hardly anyone to wave at over here. In the 2 years I have had my P-38, I have been waved at by a Classic owner and a Disco owner and a old Series 2 owner. Newer Range Rover and Evac owners have their mobiles to their ears and their noses up.
