i need to refit me viscous on me 200 tdi,but i am fooked if i can find me spanner..anyone get any ideas how to refit it without the viscous spanner?

does it tighten the opposite way to the engine turning, if so wind it on by hand and it will tighten itself,

the adjust spanner will be too thick unless yerve sat on it

allways use a fookin socket that i filed down....

i use an adjustable spanner. 300mm job. do it on by hand and it will self tighten.

As 90boy said hammer and chizel is the best way just make sure yer do it right.

i tried to **** it off on my old disco wiv a hammer and chisel......ended up snappin the shaft

undo the 4 10mm bolts on back of fan then move the fan back towards the engine and you can get an adjustable or a spanner down the back of viscous unit no prob.

Why not just buy the correct tool it's not expensive.

because nowhere round here had one and i need it fitted for today

By a bit of luck I found that a mountain bike spanner for the pedal crank was a perfect fit, just remember the fan tightens anti-clockwise.
