I know with the v8 the back box doesn't do much.. its all in the mid box.

It does enough just to dampen it :)

Currently painting pannels, strengthening the front bumper and tidying a few bits up. It looks like tomorrow is going to be hellishly muddy and wet... been told a truck though to waterproof the engine but any other pointers ?

No, too much still to do to the Landy. Aiming to do some night laning tomorrow night now .. ;)

You missed a good one :) quite muddy plenty of water about and some challenging stages :) managed to get 4th would have done better if I hadn't got stuck on the last stage

And it turns out my V8 will run underwater :D

And as usual there was plenty of action :) I had yo recover a few people one was a diesel that stalled in water and he was abit embarrased when my V8 pulled him out ;)

My viscous transfer came in really handt a few times on tight gates being able to pull the handbrake, lock the rear wheels and allow the front to pull around a much tighter turn :) have to use that more often :)

And nothing broken :) shame theres no trials now untill February looks like il have to get it road legal and to some pay and play sites for the winter :)

Nice one mate. Would have loved to be there but the head was off yesterday, fixed and pout back on, but today we added a new heater matrix and a lot of little things .. time consuming isn't the word .. ;)

The truck looks awesome with a bit o' mud on it, and well done for the fourth .. ;)

Yeah its the small bits that take the time :)

Cheers mate :) yeah loved gettibg it abit dirty :) although took an hour to wash tonight

Miracles do happen!! how on earth did you manage to get your V8 to make friends with water?

Lots of chain lubricant on anything elecrical. MAF is in the cab protected from water. Coil is hidden behind a shock mount and air intake at the back :)

nice trick with the handbrake :)

you guys must be lucky with water, the only reason i got MS is cos i came home from a laning weekend so ****ed off i picked up the phone and ordered it otherwise i most likely would have set the car on fire to dry the dizzy out!

Hahaha :D

MS was high on my list but after its performance it now goes behind axles and suspension so its getting put back for abit

Might ring dave at ashcroft tomorrow

Just read the whole thread, looks great, would be good to see some videos of it in action.

Cheers :)

My mate got a few from the last trials weekend just got to get him to put them up somewhere :) ill probably do some gilming of it at some point as we double drive it and I usually have my go pro on for each event but that just gets a POV video ...

Front light mountings done today :) was toying with making them removable but decided against it in the end

Just need to get some wipac crysals with built in side li h ts now so I dont have to use a seperate side light :) the wiring is all there already so just needs hooking up :)

Ive alse left room above the headlight for a LED light bar if I can find a good quality one that will fit :)

Dragged this baby out aswell

And afyer 1 look decided im going to make a new drum and end plate as im not impressed with the standard end plate and will need to MOD the drum to fit and add a roller bearing instead of a stupid bush :D

You should defo get a freespool drum from delta-tek !

Now see im torn on that point.

I know a freespool drum is basically a must for winch challenges. Makes a bigger difference than twin motors IMHO

But my thinking is a freespool drum £500
Bow2 £250
Twin motor housing £700
GP bits £400 at least and in the end im still left with masic 8274 body and internals ....

Or I could put that money into a brand new, fully billet Red Winch Hornet for the same price and end up with a winch that is
1 faster
2 has all the bits id have yo upgrade on my 8274
3fully billet so loads stronger than my standard housing
4 Brand New

Seems like a no brainer to me ... so I plan to use this winch for a few challenges then switch to a Red Winch

Just got yo be able yo afford one
