Does anyone know if its possible to just buy the top seal for the FIP and if so a part number please. Mines just starting with a slight leak when cold but stops when the engine has warmed up. Would like to get it changed before it gets bad.

No screws that need nipping up?
Gonna try that when rain stops. Was thinking maybe as it only leaks when cold after 10 mins all OK. 3 pairs of eyes have looked at it and definitely top gasket so worth just trying and if not it should be an easy enough job to change seal

Yes, easy job, had to do it on both mine.

have ordered a kit to be on safe side and not get stuck over the Christmas season. Looking at it is there any need to take inlet manifold off, seems accessible if it is only off with top and straight back on again.

Well debated with myself about hammering on a 7mm socket or buying proper one. Went on internet and had trouble trying to find a single one, only in sets and these were expensive . Then on fleabay a guy selling the Bosch injection socket kit for £4.27. Twas a no brainer in my eyes so ordered and it arrived today. Thats me busy for an hour tomorrow.

Used the new socket set today and found the triangle one not quite tight. My apologies to @Datatek it was a loose bolt that just needed tightening. Fingers crossed was an easy fix. Proper tool still saved me some aggro though

Be very careful touching those bolts for the top cover, including the security bolt one. It can be enough to shift the collar slightly and the idle revs. Do it with the engine running if you have to.

Not seen the gaskets separately but the whole lot was only £16 when I bought mine.

Most people say top cover no problem, its next one down not to disturb.
Had to get full gasket set set £15, so not too bad.
With proper socket top cover tightened and stopped leak for now so may for a nice warmer day before doing the gasket

When I did my seals the revs kept going out and eventually I realised the idle was changing from tightening up those top bolts. Took a while to figure it out! So to get it back to 750 rpm I had someone sit in the driver's seat reading the revs and ready to kill the ignition while I tightened with the engine running but with a block of wood and a hammer on standby to tap it one way or the other to adjust the revs. It was a total PITA.
