Disconnect blue pipe right?

and see if you can block the end with your thumb whilst the pump is running.

If you go for a refurb then you will need a 1/8" allen key. The piston is held onto the motor shaft by an allen bolt that you won't be able to see. Use the wrong size key and you can round the allen bolt out and end up having to buy a replacement compressor.

Hi Rachel,
Have a look on YouTube , storey Wilson has a ( how too refurb comp) on there. Search for rsw solutions and it will come up. Peice of cake for a RR mechanic like you.

Hello again,
I see you have purchased a kit from landy air, when you receive it there will be a link for you to watch them refurb a comp on YouTube , they talk you through the whole process. You will be fine with that little job.

Thank you, although I will do the (blue pipe) test. I thought I may as well have a crack at the pump. It does get red hot!! And is running a lot, whilst car on the level.

Wammers also said to check the diaphragm, which I will do after the pump service.

Thanks for the advice. :clap2:

Thank you for that....I have one of those somewhere. :)

So servicing the compressor.....

Got the thing apart. Removed the piston ok.

Fitted the piston seal, but the kit used this white seal shaping tool that folds the seal upwards correctly. When you put the piston back in to pump, you need to remove the white seal shaper, you have about 20 secs to get the piston back in!!!!

20 secs is not enough and the stupid seal goes flat and the piston cylinder ####s it!!!!! Have had to order a seal "preshaped".

Just a warning to those who buy these kits!!! GET THE SEAL PRESHAPED!!!

Thanks guys.

Good guide!

I did get the brass fixing ring off, cleaned grove and refitted the new seal.

But unlike the seal in the guide, mine was flat not folded upwards. A new type that is molded before you fit with a stupid white mould.

Does not work!! Why anyone would use this system!!

Ordered a seal now like the one in the guide.

Take a look at this video, you will see the type I was stuck with!!

Note the white seal mould!!!!

Doesn't even need piston out, just fit new seal and liner, dead easy but some like to over complicate and that video with molding etc. tops it:emps1:
Who tf invented that:confused:

Thanks, yes I know. The moulding idea is a mad idea. To be fair the seller has sent me the other type of piston seal now.

Any idea where I can get the red gasket behind the end plate, mine was broken!

Hey, I only need the two red gaskets, I.e. The square one and the one divided in to two sections.

That would be great. IM me your PayPal details and cost. And I will transfer the cost. Thank you!
