From what I can tell the inside is good. The outside is very solid, ****ting it with a amma and it sounds good.

Preparation time tonight. Want to get it done, board of welding now, want to put it back together now.

Think I got all of the rot. Not a lot left there now, rebuild tomorrow.

The footwell is ready to go in though.

Has anybody got any tips on how to remove old under seal? Wire wheel blocks up, grinding disc melts and smears it. Anything else on the market that can do the job?

Hopefully I will find out tomorrow if a Disco 200 windscreen will fit a RRC :D

If you are talking about the old rubbery stuff on the rangies, then heat is indeed the way forward. I found a blow torch and scraper did a great job. I found this out after I noticed the under seal came off easily in areas near to where I had been welding.

Cheers, will try that. Not intending to take it all off just clean areas that need treating.

Going well today, till I ran out of welding gas

Got the footwell welded in place

Then went to see djdommyp and killajoules to fetch a windscreen that will hopefully fit my Range Rover.

Found its best to let it dry then if flakes off hands, who needs a Spa this stuff pulls all the dirt, grime and dead skin off :D

When I ran out of that, it was still warm, light and not raining. So I stripped the boot floor out to see what condition the fuel tank is in.

Can anybody help me, before I start cutting things and pulling apart, what are these 3 pipes? It in in a 3.5 efi rangy, they run up the inside of the rear goalposts :confused:

I will probably answer this myself, but hear goes.

The rubber fuel pipes that join the filter, pipes and tank together have 1/4" on them, closest metric to this is 6mm, so does this mean that I have to replace the solid pipes with 6mm pipes?

no, as long as it's not rotten.
