Okay. I didn't get chance to finish it, after sorting out flu wheel and crank wheel timing I thought the problem were sorted,
But the timing pin on the fuel pump won't slot in, you have hold pump between rotations to get it to go in making meaning pressure on it and when pull it out it slides back?
Any idea's need to get back together for weekend?
Sorry probably a stupid question but want to be sure I am correct in thinking, with the mark on crank lined up and the timing pin in the fly wheel that has to be TDC. (even if the engine has been rotated with the belt off?)
Don't worry if the fuel pump pin is a bit hard to remove. I have done a good number of timing belt changes on 300tdi and I usually need pliers to pull the timing pin out (greasy fingers on a smooth surface don't grip well enough).
